Kaluens,
Hmm.. had to post this screenshot...
While ghosting a convoy at about 7-8km, I surfaced got a sidefull from an A&B class which somehow I failed to detect, notice, see, etc.. If you look carefully you can see a teeny Kptlt. waving from inside his flooded compartment.

Reminds me of that old colloquialism..."That's about as useful as a screen door on a submarine!"
I recall a patrol where I was running with decks awash in blustery weather, minding my own business and celebrating with the crew over our successful convoy raid in the Irish Sea, having evaded the escorts after enduring several hours of depth charging. Suddenly, the boat lurched and rocked hard and there was deafening, gong-like booms and squeals of metal against metal.
It turns out a destroyer had been following us in our own wake, where the weather and noise of our own diesels made us blind and deaf to his presence until it was too late! He rammed our conning tower from behind and it was only quick thinking and a quicker crew that we managed to crash dive out of harm's way, but not before our deck gun was sheared off as the DD passed over our submerging foredeck.
Fortune smiled upon us that day, as we braced ourselves for what we were sure to be direct hits from a string of wasserbomben. Nothing happened! No splashes! Not one! It was then I realized the destroyer must have been one of the same that had hunted us after the convoy was hit and he had already expended all his depth charges.
I love this game! :D
Great Episode, Graf :D You owe me a drink!
