View Full Version : Is Anyone Playing Navy Field?
If so, what do you think of it? I've heard it is difficult to get into. Is this true? Thanks.

It's on my plate, but SH4 has had so much happening lately I haven't checked it out. Between Trans-Atlantic Radio, checking out RFB with a sugar boat, writing copy for the RFB manual and working on a brand new attack technique, I haven't even thought about Navy Field!
Um, shall I put you down as undecided? :D
Check the other games section. ;)

Ive seen the splash box here on subsim but never checked into it.
Is that the one run by the USN as sort of a recruitment hook?
Can you tell me more about it?
Sorry, I can't--am looking for a review of the game myself. I downloaded the two manuals and looked thru them but would like a first person report.

I play it.... more regularly than SH3 GWX or SH4.
I don't play any of the subs in it though. I cruise in a Prince Eugen.
It's a great game if you are interested in naval history.... aside from that, I wouldn't recommend it.
Definitely falls into the not-for-everybody category.

I was big into NF about a year ago, but all the guys i played with kinda let it go. Its gets boring if you arnt playing with someone, imo. I have a CV Bouge, believe she's called "USSGothicLine" (Paradox/oxymoron anyone:up: ) in the Arizona server. Its definately good for a free game, it gets updated regularly (with an auto-updater yay! ), but after you hit Lvl 30, the experiance points start comming in alot more slowly if you dont get the perimium subscription (not yay:nope: ). Also, it can be confusing at first, but the video tutorials on the NF site should help. Thats all I got, might just have to hop on, see whats new.

It's OK. Signing up etc was relatively painless. Figuring out what you have to do was a wee bit confusing but I got into a server for training and moved from point to point pounding away at target ships. To be honest it didn't hold my interest long enough for me to really figure out how to best use the ships. It's sitting on my desktop but I just haven't gone back to it. I got more of a kick out of playing Battlestations Midway which is not too bad once you get into it. A bit arcade-ish but nicely done. My one complaint would be the single player "campaign" was WAY too short so I'm curious about Battlestations: Pacific which I've seen advertised.

its a fun game if you have some one to explain things and help you get your crew set a good crew in that game often can mean having fun or hating the game with tho the sub is sorta deseptive on thier little block thinggy up there the game really is more about BBs and CVs but a good game nothing really like it out there the game does sorta start to drag on players at the higher lvls where its a job almost to lvl your stuff alone but the nations top BB or CV is worth it all except the H44 :(

What are you talking about? Subs are awesome in the game, I see them blowing the hell out of BBs all the time.
