A couple of years back I decided to remodel the Attic. I insulated it, put up sheet rock and installed a bathroom. All in hope of making it a gaming room and maybe build a train/model town using N scale. My dog (Rottie) used to like to always to be with me no matter what i was doing. One day he just decided to not come up to the attic any more and would even stay at the bottom of the stairs and growl constantly. I thought nothing of it until he started doing this all the time. I took him to the vet and he was in good health etc... Then the voices started. In fact they would wake me up which was weird. At first I thought it was people outside or maybe a radio or TV that my stepson left on. But it was not. The voices which were very faint began to say my name and that is when i went to the doc myself. Nope! Nothing growing in my head that shouldn't be there.

My stepson still likes to adorn his room with poster from everything to his favorite bands, movies, sports teams and of course the latest girlie pin ups. Coming home from work one day I was met by him and he was in a rage accusing me of trashing his room. I went to see what he was talking about and each and every poster he had was torn off the walls and literally shredded. Once he realized I left the house that morning before he did and was working 100 miles away that day, that i could not be the culprit. I thought maybe he did it as an act of defiance or as an attention getter because I have been prompting him to get a career started. The dog could not have done it either because he stays in his kennel outside when no one is home.

My stepson decided to enter the Penn State Biomedical program and is out of the house now. All this weird stuff stopped happening until a week ago. I was awakened by my dog who's hair was on end. I grabbed my Glock and did a sweep through the house to find nothing and all the windows and doors were locked. I needed to use the bathroom before going back to bed and while I was taking a leak the light turned off. I thought this is great and went to the switch which was in the off position. Somehow the switch moved and i cannot explain that. There is no breaker in it that could trip it.

The house was built in 1895 and I am researching th history of it currently. Not sure what to make of all this stuff. I am highly skeptical about paranormal events, but these thing did happen and i am not too eager that they continue. Anyone else have some strange unexplainable thing happen?

Some years ago on our summer cottage, we saw unusually bright star just above the horizon, that's what we though it was at first, but with a closer look it was way too big to be a star.

Anyways, all of us (5-6 were there at the moment) went down to the beach to get a better look at it. It didnt move at all, just sat there for 10-15min. Then, it suddenly flew past our island from afar and disappeared to the horizon.

Everyone still thinks it was an airplane, but I dont believe it was. It was there for 15min, not moving at all. There were no blinking lights as one would see in a commercial jet. And lastly, when it moved it went fast, almost like watching a fighter fly right past you, nothing like a commercial jet (there's a route directly over our island so we see them quite a bit), nor it had any kind of sound. It was night and there was no wind or anything, very calm, so one should have heard the jet if it was one. Ow yeh, and this one flew from NE to SW, the commercial route goes NW to SE.

Still bugs me today what the darn it was. :hmm:

My Spookie story is I looked at the calendar and realized we've been married 29 years.

I got scared when I realized that I have to come up with a special gift or a special gift for next year - 2010 [30th year] - I said to myself "Not again! I just paid off the 25th anniversary present." :p

I'm one of those people who would LOVE to believe in the paranormal, but unfortunately, I havn't encountered any evidence that convinces me that it exists. I'm dying for that "personal experience" that can't be explained though. I think the world would be so much more interesting if this stuff exists.
I even enrolled in a fun paraphsychology course in high school. I was definitely the class skeptic and I managed to debunk everything. :D
One of our class projects was to learn how to properly investigate suposed paranormal sites. We used all the same stuff that you see the ghost hunters use on TV. We didn't have a psychic (otherwise known as scam artist) with us. We did everything scientificly and by the book. We even hung paper plates from strings from the cielings to help measure air flow in the houses that we did. We investigated several houses and a supposed VERY haunted old cemetary and came up with ZILCH.
I can honestly say that those investigations were among the most boring yet most interesting things I've done in my life. Sitting in front of a monior showing the same thing watching video tapes or listening to audio tapes with pretty much nothing on them for HOURS on end was excruciating.
All in all, it was a fun class and I'd do it again if I discovered another class that did that.
I would KILL for something spooky or ghostly to happen to me. So if there's any ghosts out there reading the Subsim boards, COME AND GET ME !! :D

My parents house has a "blind room" in the attic.
The rooms in the attic are smaller than they ought to be in one corner.
I don't really want to open it, though.
House was build in 1925.
My uncle tops that by living on top of a huge unresearched WW2 bunker, which apparently hasn't been entered since 1945.

Seriously, I had some kind of a "butterfly effect" event last year on my uncle's fifhtieth birthday.
He's a football coach in a small town in the hills near Heidelberg, so the party was in the club's home.
When I entered the hut where the party was, it immidiately occured to me:
This was a deathtrap. 80+ people in a room with a single normal sized door which opened inward, the windows were barred. Gas heating with open flame, paper decorations and candles.
A disaster waiting to happen. While I was still sober, I convinced my cousins that we put out all open flames and turned off the darn gas heater.
It was November, but so many people in a small room produce enough heat.
Nothing happened, but while I got quite drunk and tore my suit on an iron table (I was overdressed anyway), I alway stayed near the door.
I still don't know why this struck me the way it did, as I'm neither a voluntary firefighter nor especially afraid of fire or concerned with fire protection.
I think I got some kind of premonition or something.

Oh. I've had that before. A little aloe vera will clear that up in a couple of days. Stay out of direct sunlight, drink plenty of fluids, and make sure to get a good helping of human brains. They have vitamins !

When my Dad passed away back in 87 on the Thanksgiving Holiday, I had to take the train home as no flights were available.

I got home Saturday morning two days after he passed. There had been a light snow that dusted the ground the night before. Mom, Sis, and Uncle picked me up at the station. They took me to my old home, where my best friend was waiting at the house incase anybody came by while everybody was out gathering me from the train station.

Anyways, Sis and my bro went to get a few things from the store, while Mom, and Uncle went to the Funeral Home for Dad's Funeral proceedings. I had taken a shower to clean up and got a shave. I then went down to my old room in the basement to change, and I had to wear one of Dad's suits as I had none of my own.

While I was getting ready for the viewing, I heard a loud knocking on the side window, so I went upstairs to see if someone was at the door, and all three dogs, two shepards, and little mop, were all looking at the side window, sitting like good pups, wagging their tails and no one was there. I went outside to see if some one was aeound the house as it late morning, and found footprints that were leading up the drive in the snow, to the side window, but did not backtrack to the sidewalk. The footprints on further observation were identical to Dad's cowboy boots. And it wasn't me as I wear a 12A, Dad wore 9 regular.

So I just figured Dad was making a visit to let me know he was ok.

I've never had anything like that happen.

Well, once, but it was much more mundane than it seemed. My daughters were just babies, and one day I was sitting in the living room reading a book with the radio playing music, and suddenly this loud growling voice came out of the stereo. I jumped pretty high (hard to do from a sitting position) and waited, but no more growls. A couple of days later it happened again, and I was starting to get pretty spooked.

The third time it happened, though, the words were understandable: "Breaker, one-nine!"

Somebody a block away had a CB radio home station, and it was overriding the incoming signals.

@ Privateer: Nice picture, but where's the rash?

Call came out of "burglary in progress", open door and the complainant will meet you out in front. We get there, it's a traditional bungalow house and we go inside. I take the first room off the front room (or living room) and the owner neglected to tell me he was a hunter. I flash my light across the room and nearly jumped and shot his full sized stuffed black bear he had posed in a semi standing position with it's mouth open. I looked at the homeowner who was somewhat biting his lower lip to stop himself from laughing. "Sorry..."

I used to talk on my corded phone late at night with my girlfriend or sometimes me and my budies would totalphone and play Dungeons & Dragons, way back in the day and every weekday night at around midnight, we would hear the distinct, loud, deep voice of a truck driver nammed "Rattlesnake" at a truck stop that was at least 20 miles away. We could only hear his side of the conversation, but not who he was talking to. He was annoying, but sometimes he was hilarious when he came on and said things at critical moments in our conversations. I recall one Dungeons & Dragons night where my friends had entered a room where I was describing a family of orcs within. Just as I finished describing the orc's wife, Rattlesnake came on and said "I'd hit that !! You should too !!!" :rotfl:
