... you do things without thinking, and end up screwing somebody.

I took my car, with a friend of mine, and went to my mom's home, to pick up some stuff I left there, long ago. And old computer, some cds and dvds, some hardware... We were messing around those old boxes when I found my old aluminium baseball bat. I took it out of the box and practiced some swings to remember the old days. Some seconds later, my friend appeared out of the blue, and told me, while he throwed a white round thing at my direction "look what I've found!".

On the reflex, I swinged the bat and got it, full ball really hard, heard that solid noise, like if I was hitting a wall.

It was a golf ball... I thought that was some sort of a toy, light, easy to break.

I got scared... the ball went really long, and some seconds later I lost sight of it. I got worried, and told my friend: "lets go take a walk around and see if nothing wrong happened."

Would you believe it, we found a car, FOUR BLOCKS AWAY, with the front window smashed, and a white round object was laid in the grass, right next to the car. It was a quiet neighborhood, no cars passing, nobody on the streets. Nobody noticed that the car was in that condition, there was no alarm. I felt really bad, and I went home. It was a honda civic, the new model, 2007 or 2008. I bet that window is damn expensive, and I don't have money at the moment for that sort of stuff, so we went back home.

Guess it was a home run....

:nope:

I'd take that one step further and explain to them what happened now and promise to make good on it as you can. Of course, it may be too late now since the folks that own the car have probably already called the police.

I know how that person feels, I had my car sideswiped, causing more than $1000 worth of damage, and the @#$%^&*! didn't leave any details. I would have still been upset if they did, but at least they didn't do a runner and leave me having to pay.:stare::damn::damn::damn::damn:

Tell then what happened and explain your situation, they might be annoyed but at least they will resect you and will be more understanding:up:

But I'm sure we won't find the guilty one 4 blocks away.

At least was a long one!

As Forest Gump used to say: Sh!t happens.

YOU LITTLE PUNK!!!!

THAT WAS MY CAR!!!!

:rotfl:

JK!

The right thing to do = some time in the next several weeks... after saving up a couple of hundred bucks. slip the money into a sealed white envelope marked "Sorry about the windshield" and put it under a wiper blade and walk away smiling.

no id be pissed, but i know alot of people wouldnt bother notifying me..let alone paying me for the damages
thats why i'd do a 180 and forget about it
