Flaminboat, it is in very poor taste to start a deragatory thread with a member's name in the title. Maybe it is time to step away from the computer for awhile. The topic seems to have gotten the better of you.

Hunter isn't 'tolerating' anything. He doesn't even moderate GT. All he is trying to do is get people to calm down a little. He could use your help. Giving him a thumbs down is not helping.

I think it is so clear that I said no such thing, or anything even close to that that the statement can do no harm. My positions are carefully thought out, backed with solid facts and, although my conclusions may sometimes be surprising, they are logical. Anybody who reads my posts knows this and I am in no danger of anyone's opinion being poisoned by this pitiable attempt at..........whatever it is.http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa293/RockinRobbins13/smileys/hahaha-024.gif

Yes, Subsim1 is sometimes a bit over the line, but not in the same personal sense. But this is a perfect example of what happens when the facts are not on his side and he can't form reasoned opinions. He and many other liberals resort to personal attacks. They speak for themselves and reveal more about themselves than I can by getting upset about it.

yet you tolerate the way Subman1 acts:-? :down:I am much less than you on this subject. You constantly single me out. So you were saying? Pot calling the kettle black? Hypocrite might be a better word for you.

Why don't you go back through all your posts and see how often I have singled you out. You do it constantly, an I pretty much ignore you. Probably because you have yet to say something logical and worth response.

Why are we bringing political things on subsim, Political things seem to always start things. Lets not start this war stuff. Now lets forget that all this political stuff occured, It seems to be changeing the subsim atmosphere(not in a good way).

nah, this isn't just a subsim thing. the same arguments and fights - sometimes more intelligently put and sometimes less intelligently put - are recurring on just about every forum in the internets.

This kulturkampf of America's is really unbelievable, the amount of vitriol and hate you pour on your fellow countrymen, possible next president and general people on the opposing side, is incredible. If it was any other country I'd think serious violence was just around the corner. But i know the US has had many periods of this intensity of feeling before and only one major violent period.

But still in this time of extreme polarity, so little seems at stake and the issues with which you relentlessly bash the other side seem so vapid.

I'm reminded of Nietzsche's observation that at times of peace, the violent man will turn on himself.

Ah Joe, we've actually had a few violent periods. The War for Independence, the War of 1812, the Mexican American War, and the worst and most costly in American history, and the last on our own soil, the War Between the States. I hate calling it the Civil War, as war is anything but civil. More accurately put, it should be called the unCivil War.

This is a good read on the latter subject: http://books.google.com/books?id=JB0GAAAACAAJ&dq=civil+war+chronicle

And some folks forget that Lincoln was the first Republican President, and while he was in office, is when America became embroiled in it's bloodiest war ever.
