Remember the full alert category 5 attack the republicans leveled at Ron Paul? From Faux News trying to tie him to the 9-11 truth movement to CNN trying to tie Ron Pauls fund raising to Guy Fawkes day; I've never seen such a politically intense hitjob in my life. They did nothing but relentlessly laugh at and attack Dr. Paul. His crime? Being a true republican, that was Ron Paul's offence. Mentioning such verboten things like the gold standard and old Reagan style non-interventionism overseas. Ron Paul talked to Americans like we were adults and not 7 year olds. He won all the debates hands down in the primary, but the corporate media machine said he didn't. They were so afraid of Ron Paul they would not let him in the building at republican rallies on more than one occasion. The republican hate machine was turned up full blast on Ron Paul. The republicans really came together in unison to attack Ron Paul. If the republicans spent half as much energy and effort on defeating Obama as they did on Ron Paul, McCain would not be politcially deader than Julius Ceasar right now.

The republican party had their chance to win this election. Ron Paul would have gotten my vote proudly and I am a liberal as you know. The republicans showed their true colors with their defeat of Ron Paul. They told the nation they would rather take 4 or 8 years in the penalty box than let a dangerous man like Ron Paul upset the status quo of big business as usual in Washington. Ron Paul did make the republicans show their true colors, he showed us that the primary goal is to carve up and privatize the entire government, giving it to their big corporate buddies and leave everyone else in the streets. This is of course all in the name of the "free market", of course as we just saw with the bailout that the republicans don't like the free market so much when it bites them in the butt; when it comes to their precious bottom lines all of a sudden they are born again socialists. Imagine that.

McCain is just being thrown under the bus in this election and the right isn't even really hiding it. Only the most naive and stubborn true believing voters truly think McCain is seriously trying to win this election.

I agree. Ron Paul would have had my vote over Obama.

It would have been a turbulent time afterwords but over a decade we could have slowly made massive gains.

That's because he (Congressman Paul) isn't on the big money dole like the two choices we do have. Isn't it a pity we can't get anyone better than these two as the "major" party heads for an election.:damn: :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn:
