I am on my 3rd patrol it is feb.1940 and am getting awful tired of experiancing rough sea's.my first 2 patrol's i experianced heavy seas the entire time!never was able to use the deck gun.from the shetlands to the northwest tip of spain.even though in the first pat.i sank 8 ships for 29,318 and in the second 9 for 31,532 i could have gotten more if i could have utilised the d/g,i ran out of torp.both times.i read on this forum that the weather changes app.every 3 day's but that has not been my experience.i repeatedly run thru 6 or 7 straight game day's before i save and it stay's the same.really getting tiresome.:damn:

What mods are you using?
How often (in in-game time) do you save and reload the game?

What olc has written is true. I have experienced heavy storm just because i play straight without saving and reloading. But i dont really mind, it allows me to be used to storm!

do you use SH3 commander?

if so do you have "wave height" set to "seasonal"

if i remember correctly the weather will be roughest during the winter months.

Some November - January spans its pointless to even go out to sea

thx for the replies i'm running gwx 2.1 and sh3 comm.i probably do have it set for seasonal{if that is default setting}.guess i should'nt complain to much the tonnage i'm getting seem's to be pretty good right?my tactic is to sit stopped in a potential choke point and stay submerged as much as possible and use hydrophone.all my sinkings have been initialy located in this manner.i sank 8 of the 9 on my second patrol off of the nw tip of spain, all inbound and all french but one in a week and a half.also 125 k west of straits of gibralter is a target rich environment.just sit and wait for them to come to you, saves fuel also.needless to say the sonarman has gotten promoted and medalled everytime i've gone back to port.:p

Im pretty sure its set to standard (SH3) by default, you have to change it to seasonal.

There's a mod out there called "stop the rain", it can be enabled mid patrol via JSGME (save game, minimize to desktop, enable mod and reload), it will stop the rain (obviously  ) but it will also reduce the wave heights and fog levels (not to calm seas though, so no deck gun Im afraid), if thats whats causing you frustration.
