View Full Version : So what do YOU think the "october surprise" will be?

McCain can't win without another 9-11 this month. That is what worries me. How far will the Neocons and Israel go to keep the republicans in power? Don't give me that look. Removal of Saddam Hussein from power was an Israeli strategic onjective, not an American one. I don't have a problem with that per se. I would like to see the IDF fighting in Iraq and dieing along with the American kids however, instead of sitting over their acting innocent.

Ok, back to the post. What would it be? Small nuke on a worthless American city? Dirty bomb? Gas attack? Start a war with Iran? A fake Bin Laden "kill/capture". Then they can say "oops", after McCain gets elected.

Now this is NOT a 9-11 inside job thread, but I do not believe the official 9-11 or British 7-7 story. Just too coincidental that there were military "exercises" going on BOTH times. I am stating what I think, so don't derail it into a 9-11 inside job thread, you can state if you think it was bogus or "al-CIAduh" :D

I think we will see a large chemical attack in the US. This will be blamed on the "terrorists" of course. Frankly, another fake Bin Laden tape just won't cut it this time. That or a fake Bin Laden kill, Americans are used to the loser scoring in the last 10 seconds of the game/movie so they will take this hook line and sinker.

Ok, your opinions?

Let me see if I understand you. 911 was not an inside job, but you believe the Republicans are capable of creating a similar event\attack on americans because it may win an election?

......I'd give you my opinion but I like being a member here.

I expect the campaigns to get a lot uglier.

You save your biggest shots for the last week. I wonder what McCain is planning.

I was worried when I saw the Obama ad on the Keating Five, but I'm hoping it was a tie-in with the economic crisis rather than a response in kind to the Mccain camp. Hoping.

I think the October surprise will be that Obama is not an American citizen and now Democrats will have to choose a new candidate weeks before the election.

Ok, one more civil post before all h-e-double-hockey-sticks breaks loose and we'll make it past 5:up:

There will be more than that : not only Obama will be proven non American citizen, but McCain will have a badass heart attack and will have to abandon his candidacy. Palin will freak out and pretext an important hockey match between two important "small towns" and will never be heard of again. People get totally confused and don't have a clue who are the new dem and repub candidates, and Ron Paul gets elected 44th president of the USA with a whopping 95%.
Yes, but Ron Paul is proven to be an illegal alien (from the planet Uranus) and now we're totally screwed because Nancy Pelosi becomes president.:rotfl:

Nah, Vladimir Putin will get elected president. From then on, it will alternate every 8 years, with Putin and Medvedev taking rotating turns at being presidents of Russia and the US. :88)

I don't believe we will see an October surprise. Digging up something new about Obama may prove difficult considering he had to run against the Clintons for such a long period of time.

Frankly I do not like the tone of your post.

#1 what does Israel have to do with anything. They stand just as much of a chance of being outright attacked whoever gets elected.

#2 An "October Surprise" is the most expected event in election history. Osama was not caught in October of 2004.

#3 McCain lost the foreign policy edge long ago. The only "fear" remaining is that somehow Obama is a black Muslim that plans to hand over the white house to Iran or somthin.

How would another 9/11-scale attack on American soil guarantee a Republican victory? If anything this would utterly crush any remaining faith in the current Republican administration; for all those lives lost, billions spent, and people tortured, America would be no safer than it was seven years ago.

Don't be silly.

No, no October suprise.

I hear these conspiracy theories all the time on WBAI, or as I like to call it my 'PinkoCommieCrazyRadioStation'. I don't buy any of it. Do you remember W's expression in that classroom when his aid told him what had just happened on 9-11? You can't fake that kind of 'Oh, S**T' expression he had. There was a man completely lost as to what happened and what to do next. Besides, to pull off those kind of acts would require thousands of 'willing' American participants to commit the acts and then stay quiet about it. I just don't buy that that many Americans are willing to commit murder of fellow Americans for any reason, let alone political advantage. Even, for argument sake they were capable of committing it, someone would blab.

I would however say that I think that the Bush Administration exploited 9-11 to drum up support to invade Iraq. THAT I do buy.

I see what you mean. You seem to think America wouldn't do anything bad like this. Let's look at what we do know. The gulf of Tonkin lie for example. Pearl Harbor as well. America knew it had to get into world war 2, but how? America was opposed to the war. So they made Pearl Harboe a sitting duck while the American government politically provoked the Japanese. Cutting of their oil was the last step in a plan to force Japan to attack. Then we could enter the war with a clear "concience" as the victim fighting back. America is the only country to have ever nuked anyone as well.

We are hardly the worst offender in the world, not even close. We could never hold a candle to Mao, Stalin or Hitler. However having said that, America is not above a little false flag operations or starting or entering wars under less than honest pretexts.

American's view democrats as weak on foreign policy in general. People have gotten over 9-11. Just looked at Rudy 9-11 Guiliani's failed campaign. He said 9-11 every other word to try to get elected. That fear has worn off. A fresh scare would get the masses scared and in line with the right.

A new 9-11 would have a good impact on the republicans, they could go "see, we aren't safe! the war on terror is far from over". Fear works. Me and you know we have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than getting killed by a terrorist, however Joe Sixpack would be out back digging a bunker if there was another "attack". I think the whole terrorist scare is right out of a George Orwell novel. Let's face it, McDonald's and automobiles kill more Americans than the terrorists could ever dream. The patriot act took more freedom from American's than could be taken in 1,000 terror attacks.

American's view democrats as weak on foreign policy in general.

I don't think that about the Democrats. I just don't like what the democrats have become. These are not the FDR type Democrats anymore. It seems like they've gone off the deepend with a socialist elitist attitude, as opposed to being the kind of folks who meant to do good in the public sector.

And trust me, I think the Republicons are off the scale too. They have followed suit with every deregulation that came down the line, (both are actually just as guilty), but instaed of fighting deregulation they let it prosper and grow. Because of it, our trade relations worldwide are screwed. It has allowed the industrial heart of our once great nation move to other countries where labor can be had for a slave's wage. And all this got it's start in the early 60s right after Johnson took the reins.

A good book on the current situation is here: http://books.google.com/books?id=r0QLU3AWmIIC&dq=america+what+went+wrong&pg=PP1&ots=Mlh9swuxUM&sig=kJD_T0lfG8HGbQhmxVMpmR0rZ8s&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=4&ct=result

Even though it is older now, after reading it, the predictions made by the authors, and where we are as a country now is pretty close to what they did predict. But it clearly shows how both are just as guilty.

Well, considering that a war-hungry Republican administration has done wonderful things for Al-Qaeda et al, they'll be doing all they can to get McCain in.

But I think the most that may happen is a video release from a high-up.
