View Full Version : Mods, mods, mods the sky is the limit

Been reading a lot about mods in this forum.

I am running GWX2.0 and Commander and it works fine.

Now is there any known problems with other mods. The cumulus clouds in the sky, survivors in rafts and life boats, torpedo damage, sea battered sub skins etc. etc.
Or can I just rush ahead and download anything I can get my hands on.
And can I upgrade to GWX 2.1 without loosing game progress?

I am a bit worried that my game may break and / or horrific loading times.

Most gratefull for an answer.

I would do a backup before installing GWX. But After that, Ahead Flank, 45 Knots!

Most mods that I've come across seem to work fine with GWX 2.1 (ie. Lifeboats & Debris 3b, Torpedo Damage Final). I can tell you that two of Fubar's VII skins (the VIIC Med camo & the VIIC Plain) don't though. The telegraph dial on the bridge is skewed so it looks weird on these two skins. His other skins seem to be okay with GWX 2.1.

Use JSGME and load and test them one at a time. If one doesn't work you can take it back out again.

It's for my own tastes, but you should be able to do pretty much anything you want, as long as you're careful.
