Only 3 of 1400+ crew survived when Hood was sunk by Bismarck. Ted Briggs, the last of the three, died this weekend.

Many of us sink Hood, happily, in the game. I do. But I think I will let Hood pass, next time. Just for Ted.

Sad news indeed! My the old Sailor find peace!

Sooner or later there won't be any more Veterans of WWII. And none to keep up the memory for the world.

Rest in Peace Mr.Briggs , you've earned it. I'm sure at this moment Ted is enjoying being reunited with his shipmates and having a spot of tea or maybe even a pint or two.

Farewell Mr. Briggs, yourself and the men of the Battlecruiser HMS Hood fought the good fight and in the end lost the battle, but not the war. It showed that there was still a light of hope in a world filled with darkness. With the passing of Mr. Ted Briggs ends the life of yet another witness of the Second World War. Rest in Peace and be reunited with your comrades that were lost so many years ago.

This is the way of life, everything, and everyone eventually dies.
But we die in peace, knowning that the younger ones continue our message to the world.

Death was never enemy of ours, it does not take, it releases. Sending us to the heaven, where no pain or sadness can't be felt.

Where one can rest happily in peace.

Rest in Peace Briggs
