I have been out of the forums for over a year waiting for the great and all knowing modders to improve SH4, now I am installing patches and I hear people mention 1.5 patch when I can only find a 1.4 patch, where do I get this ellusive 1.5 patch from?

Thank you

You just signed up for a world of hurt, my friend.

The 1.5 patch is the U-boat expansion pack.

Patch 1.5 is incorporated into the U-Boat expansion for SH4 which you can purchase through SubSim or D2D for as little as $10

The U-boat add-on is NOT a patch, people. Quit calling it that.

Whoever started calling 1.5 a patch anyway?....:shifty:

My definitions:

If I have to pay for it it is an add-on.:yep:

If it is a free game update/fix only then is it a patch....;)

other definitions:

Patch
(n.) an electronic file alteration intended to correct or update a faulty or vulnerable file

add-on
(n.) associated with a program. Add-on refers to an additional feature(s) not included in the inital release,

Probably splititng hairs either way but caling 1.5 a patch has caused a lot of confusion...just read the inquiries..mine included somewhere back when...:nope:

Well lets call it an add on that includes a patch then :yep:

A little off topic but was wondering with the user name White Wolf if you were a witcher fan :hmm:

ubisoft originally promoted it as "the u-boat missions ad-on with patch 1.5 built right in".

this is how it was advertised for months directly from the ubisoft website.

they later realised they couldnt just ad the fixes to the stock game as originally intended. it didnt work without the new game engine and needed major redoing to work with the stock game and they werent going to spend money to do it.

they immediately claimed, ummm.... "we never said we would put out a patch 1.5 for the stock game" it was a major fubar on their part but in their defence it was a software issues that stopped a 1.5 patch from being made.

that is the history of how all the confusion got started.

In posts here, it was referred to as a patch by at least one dev.
