Why is this important to me?

One of the crewman aboard the Grunion that day shares my family surname and is from the same county and district* as I am ....though I can't make a direct connection. :hmm: I'm fairly certain though we are cousins to some degree. His middle name, with it's odd spelling, is exactly the same as my grandfather's Christian name.

*(there is a mountain, a creek, a road, a school and a cemetery there that carries our shared surname)

God bless the men of the Grunion and the families they left behind.

Quite a story, and quite a site.

Thanks, Seminole.

Wow! Those ladies are doing a great service for their families. The dive planes being stuck was interesting. Was it the cause of their demise or did something else happen on or near the surface to cause them to crash dive then the planes stayed stuck after the damage had already occured from an unknown situation? RIP my brothers!
