Move the following weekend and take your daughter with you. How many more chances will she get to meet real live heros from our greatest generation?
Is this the same Band of Brothers from Eve online?

Their choice of that name has always irritated me. No way a bunch of Euro nancy boys should have the right to compare themselves to these giants among men.

It seems you need to have a few words with William Shakespeare then...;)

Point taken but those guys picked that name because of the WW2 TV series, not because of Shakespeare's play.

Actually I believe one of those guys pinned my jump wings on when I graduated jump school. Class 8-87 "Chute to Kill"
Unfortunately, I was to young and stupid to appreciate the honor at the time. :nope:

mission accomplished. Let me get moved, then I'll post details. It wasn't quite what I'd thought it would be, but it was totally worth it.
There were lots of German and French jokes told. (By the dutch guy at our table) I won't repeat them here due to the fragile nature... nevermind.
I'll just say, it was great to shake the hands of true American heroes, and tell them thank-you.

While I'm uploading the videos, here's how the event went.
I arrived a little early, so I was able to get my book signed by Don Malarkey and talk with him. He guaranteed that I would cry when I read his book. I accept the challenge. They took pictures of everybody out front, by the DC-8? I was really hoping to meet Bill gueranere (sp), but he wan't there. Dick Winers is unable to attend anymore events, as he has a severe case of Parkinson's disease. The average age of everybody was 86. To me, it was hard to believe these old men once kicked German a$$ in there days.
Anyway, the museum almost totally fubared my ticket, as they had no record of me purchasing one:o :x . They over sold the event and I was one of the last people they let in.:o In theory, there was supposed to be one BoB member at each dinner table, but there were so many people there, that was impossible. At my table, there was a young man from Holland, who was working with the BoB members to build memorials to the US soldiers (and other allies:D ) in Holland. it was interesting to hear him talk about these men and what their orginazation was doing for them. He told a lot of German and French jokes:hmm: . It was just interesting to hear a European's opinion regarding other Europeans. Once the dinner was over (which they did not prepare enough food for, and our table was the last to get served:o ) each of the BoB got up and spoke for a minute. Then there was a meet and greet at the end.

Yes but DC-3 is the civilian designation for the aircraft. The military version would be a C-47.

Wow! You got to take a picture with Malarkey and isn't that Popeye?
I remember one of the parts in BoB that made me tear up was when Malarkey started crying in one of the interview sessions before ones of the episodes...man...that was just very powerful. And Popeye was one of the best shots in the company...I wish I could have had the chance to be there.
Those guys are true heroes.

Cheers, I'm glad you went to it after all! And I'm glad the event got oversold, even - people really need to pay more attention to people like this instead of stupid celebrities.
Hope they enjoyed the day too!
