Climate Change Report Calls for Mandatory Meat Rationing
The average person eats 21 meals a week. According to a new plan (http://www.fcrn.org.uk/frcnResearch/publications/PDFs/CuaS_web.pdf) to combat climate change, 17 of those will be government-mandated as meat-free. Targets set by the plan would limit weekly consumption of beef would be limited to 1/4 pound. Chicken and ham would be similarly limited, with four modest servings of meat available throughout a week....

Good thing I do a lot of fishing. I Like it better than beef anyways. I'll take perch or walleye or catfish fillets over steak any day.
I like the picture of the "animals have rights too". Yeah like a cow's going to stand up and state "I have rights! No you don't! I'm an animal! You're a baseball glove!"

Hylander, fish are next. When people are forced to turn to things other than beef and fish become an endangered species, you'll only be allowed one fish meal per week. Then when vegetables become an endangered species............

The quote that Subman extracted is not accurate, by the way. The report, as far as I can tell without ploughing through all 156 pages, does not recommend mandatory changes, but suggests an entirely voluntary approach based mainly around changing peoples' dietary habits.
Personally, I don't give a toss about changing food habits to save the planet, but most of the changes they suggest are actually pretty good for dietary and health reasons, so wouldn't be a bad thing generally.
I'm not completely sure, but I'm sure I read somewhere that in purely mathematical terms, the protein yield per acre is far higher from vegetable sources such as pulses than acreage dedicated to meat production, so this might make sense, if only in terms of effiency, given the current food shortage. This report doesn't deal with that, though.
i say screw em, i'll eat as much meat as i want !:arrgh!:
Solution: eat environmentalists. :hmm:

Hylander, fish are next. When people are forced to turn to things other than beef and fish become an endangered species, you'll only be allowed one fish meal per week. Then when vegetables become an endangered species.................Then the people become an endangered species - the ultimate conclusion to this logic.
See where this is going? Environmentalist have been telling you for decades - we need to kill off 5 billion people as fast as we can. Everyone that aligns with this group is whacked - crazy.
