as the titel says, my game locks up after loading 90% of any mission..no error, no CTD....NOTHING...

i only have GWX 2.1 installed, no other mods.

can anybody help me with this?

Are you sure it's actually hanging up? It's a known problem that the last 10% can take the longest to load. Give it an extra ten minutes.:sunny:

i already gave it about half an hour multiple times;)

Well, then I'm obviously talking through my hat. Not the first time. But we just exhausted the limits of my knowledge of loading problems.:dead:

i used to have a mod on my machine that used to cause this (i wont name which one) but then i installed it directly and that fixed it:hmm:

That is a very long time to load with your specs.
Just to help for now, consider doing a full disk defrag. & try loading again.

Just chiming in, Mine too takes roughly 20 minutes just to reload a saved career, to load one of the GWX created single missions, it jumps to roughly 25 minutes, when changing base to keil, I have never got it to load, maybe I should wait a couple hours.

My specs are Athlon XP3400, 3 Gig Ram, Nvidia 8600GT, Windows XP Pro

I compress, defrag, my drive multiple times a day, clean registry and compress, clear out junk, and shut down all back ground operations,

Any Ideas?

Save hitting the reset button try Alt-Ctrl-Del then Alt-E twice, so long as taskman is on default "Applications" tab should get you back to desktop.:yep:

There is something v.wrong with your PC's or your installs.

This rig:

3.4ghz P4
1GB Ram
X800 Pro

Will load GWX save files in about 6 mins and that's with the combined campaign enabled.

How many active processes do you have running?
What's your 'at rest' available RAM?
What's your pagefile size?
Where is your install located? Default operating partition, c:? or other?

 Jesus i would get a nervous brakedown if i would have to wait longer then 5 min. for loading the game. NYGM takes 3min and GWX 4min loading a saved game average plus 30s if im in a convoy/harbor. One reason for this speed might be that i have 6 GB RAM and a 8800gtx installed enough for any smod to run it without virtual RAM.

When i still had xp and only 1.5 gigs using a 2ndairy HD for virtual ram i noticed that during the loading procedures of WAC which requires 2.34GB RAM the game accessed this extra HD to perhaps load or write parts of game from/to there.

My processor is a 1.8 AMD Turion 64 Mobile
2 meg of Ram,
ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Series with 128 megs.
Running XP Media edition.

Shutting down nothing?
I load in just under 5 minute.

mm, yes, my specs are similar to Danlisa and the game takes about a fat five mins to load. I have had troubles and delayed loading in the past - but nothing like as long as 42 mins ( gosh!). I too think the system might need an overhaul. Does event viewer give you any clues I wonder?

The biggest speed up I got?
I dumped anything to do with Norton!!
What a load of worthless system Hogging!!
Then they want money every year!!
:nope:
Bye Bye!!

You have a sure point about Norton. It is a huge system hog.
AVG (and it's even available absolutely Free!), is the only way to go!
AVG is clean, fast, comprehensive, and very update responsive.
And you can't go wrong with CCleaner, for the other end of things.

Have you tried JK Defrag? I have it on my 2 machines & I find that it works much better than the built-in Windows defragmenter. It's available here: http://kessels.com/JkDefrag/index.html if you're interested.
