Damn I wish I could afford one:cry:

I didn't see a price listing but I assume that this is one of those things where if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

At least I can still daydream about having one.........................

You can probably get plans and parts for building your own personal sub a LOT cheaper if you buy from one from um... certain individuals in Columbia.... :D
They're getting to be the "Personal Submarine" capitol of the world !

In most cases that's sadly the truth. However, after seeing this thread I started to look around, because I am still curious what kind of price range a personal submersible vehicle would be in. I found the following....

http://www.caribsub.com/images/pioneersurfss.jpg

Model Seahorse Pioneer (1 Seater) - Price: From $35,000 USD [Specs (http://www.caribsub.com/pioneer.htm)]

And on the higher end of the scale..........

http://www.caribsub.com/images/discoverys.jpg

Model Seahorse Discovery (Cockpit Capacity 7 Persons) - Price: $265,000 USD / Pilot Certification: $3,000 USD / Optional Yearly Maintenance Contract w/Technician at your location: $15,000 USD [Specs (http://www.caribsub.com/discovery.htm)]

There's a number of different models (frills and seating capacity) on the site, but those two were the only ones I could see with an actual price listed. The rest said "contact us."

Suprisingly, that first model above is less than I imagined, lol. That's the cost of a brand new middle/upper class model car/truck in the united states, I'd imagine?

First Seahorse model has a snorkle feature too, how cool is that? Automatic self closing valve, compressor for fresh air and ballast.

All they're missing is torpedos! :arrgh!:

Check them out @ Main Site Here (http://www.caribsub.com/index.htm)

This almost brings the dream a little bit closer (for me). That first one is realistically affordable. Wonder how much maintenance on that model would be....

Edit: Adding this image cause that's just cool.

Sadly can't afford those. I'll just have to stick with a snorkel and scuba mask.
