Morning all:
I don't know if you guys are technogeeks like I am, but my laptop is usually very close to me at all times and on those nights when I can't sleep, I'll grab it and watch movies on the endless websites that offer movies at no charge. Last night I watched the movie Battle of the River Plate, Made in 1957, and featured the actual crews and ships that took part in this battle, THe HMS Ajax, the HMS Cumberland, Tne HMS Achilles, and the HMS Exeter. The Part of the Graf Spee was played by a US Cruiser. It was quite good, and interesting to see these ships in color that I have read so much about.
Anyway, I know that we have this battle as part of the single player missions, but was wondering if it is written in to the career portion of GWX, if so I look forward to changing the outcome of this pivitol battle.

The Graf Spees last days are actually scripted in GWX
I did it
lol
Never had any Br cruisers at the time so didnt include them
IIRC I did write a single mission for it later when Gerome released a heavy cruiser placing the sub close by
Will have to hunt it down
:hmm:

Not all of the original ships were present in the movie, IIRC the Exeter was replaced by a Crown Colony class Cruiser (HMS Jamaica) as both she and her sister ship (York) sank in WWII, and the Ajax was replaced HMS Sheffield
Great movie, though

This can be viewed online? Can you provide a link to the movie?
Maybe via PM if it interferes with the forum rules...

I don't know what the rules are with regards to links, so I will post here and if it violates anything, they can remove and then I can provide it to you individually. Since it's a public and free movie site, I can't imagine there would be an issue, espacially since in 1957 there where no laws regarding reproduction infringement laws.
