Amazing...all it takes to stip a tank is a central reservation. I thought these things were supposed to be able to go anywhere and not give a damn?

They have been obsolete with a capital O since we bought them all those years ago. Still, they served the ADF well and were a reliable piece of kit.
One of those would be great to tool around my woods in.
I'd take the gun off and substitute a boom with hook and bucket for trimming trees and lifting logs.
No more worring over getting scratches when parked  ... neither about one of those SOB who park their car behind you and don't let you go out :D

One of my very distant relatives in the Czech Republic (then the CSSR) invented the T-34 plow...
:rotfl:
On the other hand, the Leopard (1) is THE western cold war tank.
In some ways, a piece of history.
Wonder how much the shipping will be on those.. :hmm:
Shipping alone....would cost out the wazzoo :doh:Nah I just fly down to Victoria and drive it up the Hume Highway to Sydney!:D

You could imagine what some political advisor was saying to the pollie after he promised the tanks to the people.
"Sir, that isn't a good idea!"
"Why should it not be? That get a tank, they vote for me, and I stay in power!"
"But if they get a tank, they could get angry at you and come after you with the tank, removing you from power!"
"MMMM! Let's say to them we will give you a tank after the election, if we win, we can just say that they have been sold and there are none left. If we loose, the they others will seem like bad guys when they won't give them there tanks, so we look good!"
"Excellent idea sir! but lets keep a few for ourselves, just incase we we need them for anything!":D

:rotfl: Sounds like one of those sales where they tell you there is a sale on one thing and then they run out by the time you get there, but they would be glad to sell me something else.:rotfl:
