I have never seen anyone write a message like SH did. I hope he's ok, but I have to wonder if this was just his way of making a dramatic exit from the Subsim forums.

Large parts of the city are without power still. Let's hope that's all it is.

Come on, SH, sign in soon. I know I couldn't pick you out in a phone box but as a fellow Subsimmer I am still concerned about your safety.

I'm back. My power has been on for two days now, but I've had to clean things up around the place. Didn't have time to post.

Well, I'm flattered, but as far as a dramatic exit goes, in serious times, no thank you.

As far as everything else goes, no serious damage done. Had some water leak into the basement and a window break (with most of my shingles torn away), but otherwise, I came through fine, thankfully.

Almost forgot to ask, how did you come out of the storm, Neal?

EDIT:

****, today was TALK LIKE A PIRATE! day.

Well your last post sounded kinda over dramatic for a category 2 storm but i'm glad to hear you and your family came through it ok.

Well truth be told, the thing I've always found about drama is that in a tense situation, it can make others feel comfortable and calm about a situation. It inspires others to be normal and to not worry. That's one of the best medicines for a sticky wicket.

Damn, looking through the thread lists, I missed a lot.

I've always tended towards understatement myself in those situations.
