I haven't been here in ages, but I still have many of the mods I used with SH2. The game has a certain atmosphere that I periodically try to revisit.
There is ONE mod, though, that I don't have. That is the 1024 mod. What hoops and leaps must I do to get this? My e-mail is gehiggin@hotmail.com

Hey, what's with that avatar? How do I change that, or can I change it?
Hey Thomsen :D Long not seen you mate
You can't change the avatar, it will go away with some more posts
I am no longer playing SH2, but the main reason is that Nvida drivers corrupt graphics. If I had kept with an ATI I would be able to play it....never mind.

Hi, guys - very, very long time no see. Entirely my own doing - a lot of water under the bridge, although it's a long time since I've been on the bridge or anywhere near a submarine.
Good to see some familiar faces around. I hope you're all well.

Hey there, yea I remember the good old days of DC/SH2 (got both more or less at the same time) and your fine add-on. Time passes so quickly.
Hey John!!!!!!
Wellcome back mate :D where have you been all this time?
I checked sometimes your profile and saw that you had not been active here for years and worried if everything was going OK for you in real life.
I'm very happy to see you well
Horsa has a forum for his little project called Iron Seas which you can check here in the main page, and most of the PA Team horsa, McBeck, Seeadler, Sergbuto .... are still around here, though some of them not very active due to real life constraints. Only one I haven't heard of for some time is AdamWarren :hmm:
hmmmmmm .... LITTLE project ????????!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)
Insults apart, a big hello from me too, John. * Waves back * Good to see you .

You know .... a small step for one man but a huge one for the humankind  that's what I meant-

Can someone give a reason (not a good one) why to play SH2?
Interop missions with DC
No cyborgs
Easily modded interiors

Strange as it may seem, SH2 was one of those games I bought but never installed. I was too embroiled in Sub Command at the time so didn't get round to it. Then SH3 hit the shelves and the rest is history. I only paid £3 for SH2 so no real complaints about not having played it.

I have SH2 and DC. Like them both and play them regularly for a change of pace.
There are some features in SH2 I would like to see in SH3 and SH4.
I use the office for desktop background too. :D
I'd swear SH4 copied the layout. :-?

I have both games too and I play them regularly. Perhaps I'm still playing both after my dissapointment with SH4.
Hi all, I've started SH2 on my 11 years old HP Omnibook XE3 - this game never gets old :salute:

SH2 with a few mods such as the one that made the campaign dynamic like and others makes great gameplay. I prefer the Pacific Theatre so i still play Pacific Aces mod for SH2 which is great by the way...one thing i still hate about stock SH2 after all these years are the dam laser guided depth charges :damn:. the freaking cans would hit 100% if you would just hover the sub at a certain depth. I remember i had to mod the config files so the DDs would throw the DCs at random depths.

You can get Projekt Messerwetzer here in the Downloads section.
How do you make battleships out of destroyers? Curious minds...

I still play it. I want to finish my old campaign, started some years ago...then I'll move to a more modern one.

Sorry for the late reply - I am installing SH II Pacific Aces on Win 7 and I have come to the step that addresses your 'laser DC's' problem.
There is/was a mod to deal with this:
historical_depth_charges_letal_radius_mod_v1.0.zip
- containing:
five files pasted into the PA/sim/systems folder of the PA directory.
DepthChargeJP_60kg.ADF
DepthChargeJP_250kg.ADF
DepthChargeJP_Type1.ADF
DepthChargeJP_Type2.ADF
DepthChargeJP_Type95.ADF
These files change the lethalness of the DC' to more realistic values than the ones used in SH2.
I remember this worked nicely :)
Happy Hunting!
