Chinese infant formula sold illegally in ethnic markets in the United States may be tainted with the chemical melamine, the Food and Drug Administration (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/organizations/f/food_and_drug_administration/index.html?inline=nyt-org) warned. I guess it comes down to how they raise chicken and pigs. Too much overcrowding and exremely filthy conditions. When you think about it the flu has killed more people world wide that what has been fought in all the recorded wars. And my Country is concerned whether or not I wear a %$^& helmet when i ride a motorcycle...:nope:

the name of the chemical is called "melazine", (or systematic name 1,3,5 - triazine - 2,4,6, triamine)

Sorry to say that the tainted stuff come from my motherland China. Clearly, an attempt to substitute nitrogenous milk protein by this chemical (which is produced in surplus in China), or personal vendetta, or accidentally tainted by problems happened in production like malfuncting machine is the blame for this

Hope that this issue get solved soon. And in fact I got quite fed up with the reports of substandard food items being produced and exported by China. :-?

Grr... this is the total undoing of the promoting of good will in the Olympic sports ground
