Air brush sets

Hi Mates,

What is a very reasonalble price to pay for an air brush? Also what do I need?
Is this all I need below;

A compressor would help, and you'll need a hose to connect them. Paint and thinner, of course.

Plus a spray booth and exhaust system. It can get pricey. I got an airbrush at the end of last year, but haven't used it 'cause I don't have the spray booth + exhaust. One of many plans is to build a booth/exhaust, but it never gets to the top of my list (have to find out where to get a used, ie cheap, squirrel cage fan).

Why can't you just open a window and lay down some newspaper? :lol: I don't have a sprayer with that stuff, but that is what I would probably do. I haven't built a model in years, but I would like to start again. It's just the price of an air compressor and spray tools is so expensive. I would have a hard time justifying the cost of a spray booth and exhaust when I can simply open a window and put some old newspaper down. :88)

Compressor isnt esential for painting.
You can make one cheap- and still get nice results.

I've never used a spray booth. They're nice but hardly necessary.

Pump action conainer. Aparently, after pumping up to 3 atm it holds for about 20 min work. Average pressure keeps at about 1,5. Main advantage- it is really quiet.:D

I wonder if there was a way to do this without the pressure gauge? :o

Do I really need the pressure gauge or can I get away without using it?

You dont need it, but is handy to have one installed. It helps to establish at what pressure you are painting at the moment, and lets you know when to pump the pressure back up. When painting large surfaces i always use high pressure, but for detail work lower is the best. So it is good idea to have the pressure gauge.:yep:

I've finally started work on the 1/72 VIIC model.

Looking into etch kits from MM and White Ensign... Are the costs relativly the same? Item and shipping?
