Well, I've played about 2 weeks worth of various betas in Warhammer Online and I gotta say:

Those of you who like a good MMO need to give it a swing if your specs are up to par. It's been a blast so far.

Last i heard there is a warhammer 40k mmo in the works from THQ. I'm also sick of medieval fantasy/etc mmos (and WoW endless grind fests).

One mmo I realy wana see happen is Shadowrun

Yes, Yes! I got my eye on this, monthly fees are the same as WoW so no stopping me to change over to Warhammer. Comes out here in 9 days. Im seriously thinking about giving Warhammer a go. Maybe do it in cycles 1 month in Wow, one month in Warhammer and repeat. :)

Wow is only a grid fest if you level up normally, I got an alt to 70 in 14days by just doing instances, thats a record for me, I was told by a guild member just do instances so tried it and haven't looked back.
Get to 20 questing then from then onwards do instances. You can level up 5 times a day or more depending on how long you play per day.

Pros can lvl to 70 in 7 days, i remeber my first 70 took me 5 months :rotfl:

The only problem with MMOs game is hackers. Morrons who have to cheat to win. Reason I gave up on MMO games. Always an arsehole to show up and ruin a game.

They can shoot through wall. Are imortal. Train entire maps and wipe you out. etc.:nope:

Battlefield 2142 comes to mind and everquest some more out there.:hmm:

You know, that's a great idea. The varying races, the magic, the tech, the vehicles, the hacker stuff...could be a great package, there.

I'm not talking about leveling (I was a pro when i use to play and could cap in about 8-10 days with out killing myself playing). What I'm talking about is its a never ending grind, you grind levels, then you grind gear, then you grind pvp levels, etc. There is nothing else to do in that game really then grinding. Thats why the game is still popular as people are addicted to grinding (for the "reward").

I've been thinking the same thing for a long time, too. Shadowrun would be perfect.

I've been sick of fantasy MMOs but couldn't really find anything that I've wanted to commit to in awhile - of any kind.

However, Warhammer has caught me. It's fun - not a grind. They yanked out a lot of the worthless time-wasting crap other MMOs have and there's always many fun things to do at any given time. Actually, I often find myself confused as to what I want to do since there's so much good fun to be had.

I hadn't PvP'd that often in other ones for years - it was usually just a short getaway that ended up being kinda bleh but Warhammer has brought me back to it full force. I've spoken with a number of people who generally just PvE and they actually enjoy the RvR in Warhammer and do it a lot more than in previous ones.

I can understand people being on the fence about it, so wait for reviews. They'll be quite good. ;)

Yeah true. But what MMOs isn't. I load wow up for the pvp mainly battlegrounds at the moment not for the gear although good gear helps but for the fun factor of killing another player. I love to kill others and its a major bonus when I kill a player with better gear than me doesn't always work out but when it does its like winning the lotto. :) Theirs Titles to gain, top Arena players, pro guilds who have done end game etc., not interest. All im interested is killing players and upsetting their day. Kill or be killed.

And i'll concussion shot you, throw in a arcane shot, lay a snake trap then torture your miserble soul by kiteing your gangsta ass with my 50+ agility axes :p (J/king).

PS: let us know what its like if you get warhammer. I'll still deciding whether i really need to play two mmos.

I've already got the game.

My head start pre-order began Monday. Some more started Tuesday. Thursday is release. I got my box on the 17th, though the official release is the 18th.

The biggest complaint is that there's not enough player's heads to be throwing axes at in all the servers right now due to only pre-orders playing on a healthy amount of servers. Since official release hasn't quite happened yet, I imagine that problem will be solved soon.

At first I was all about the Public Quest system, then got sucked into the scenario queues (that can go extremely quickly with a full server), then did open RvR, then back to ... omg too much to do even with my guild grouped up.

Gotta say that the RvR/PvP is just plain fun, not a pain in the ass. The PvE content certainly isn't something that'll keep you grinding 60 mobs for 3 drops all the time. I'm surprised at how many people like grinding like that but.. I stray. It's no-hassle MMO with the fun thrown back in, finally.

I'm on the Badlands server Order side right now. If you happen to jump in there & need a guild, send Stinkypinkey a tell, or Linna the guild leader (and tell her Choda sent you).

Her old man is a subsimmer on occasion, too, though I don't see him in-game all that much.

I'm playing the Chaos on a different server atm, tho I need to start a High Elf char on some server too as I wanna be an archer. :yep:

Oh and one silly question... WHERE THE F**K IS THE SUBSCRIPTION INFO!?!?!??! I cant find the ******* thing anywhere. :damn:

Tried Warhammer on-line...didn't like it. Same ol same ol. Instead of grinding instances you grind public quests for equipment.

They can talk all they want about the pve content in Warhammer, but the further along you go,the more the supposedly pve quests try to push you into rvr which is great if you pvp which I don't. Only game I ever pvped in was SWG...back in pre-cu when our Guild used to aid an allied guild with defending their base...now those were good times.

Only mmo that I have much interest in now is Bioware's upcoming mmo, though I'll probably mess around with WoW's Lich King expansion for awhile.

Not sure a Shadowrun mmo would be viable. Not really sure that that many people have heard of Shadowrun. I think what needs to be done there is for a Publisher to take a chance on a Shadowrun RPG and see where it goes from there. Hell I still play the ancient sega genesis Shadowrun game now and then...always wanted someone to make a pc Shadowrun RPG.

Ya don't need to know about Shadowrun to get people interested, its got all the key stuff (guns.. check, cool cybernetic parts.. check, magic.. check, vehicles.. check, cyberspace.. check, massive mega corporations taking over the world.. check, etc). Bad thing though is Microsoft seems to have licensed all the FASA stuff (Battletech and Shadowrun) and their Shadowrun game pretty much fell flat on its face (vista only game), they also unfortunatly turned it into a kind of battlefield knockoff multiplayer only game.
