I was near Gibralter in late 1940 sitting slow and siltent listening or hydrophone contacts when suddenly a merchant was approaching at medium speed.

I intercepted it and had a look through the observation periscope. I didnt take the time to positively ID it but im fairly sure it was an empire freighter.

at any rate, it had this beautiful red hull! i had never seen a red hull in SH3 like this one, it was a vibrant red like it had just been painted.

Well.... to make a long story short, my grandfather was a merchant marine, and he was the captain of a ship, similar to the one i had in my cross hairs.

but what struck me most... the boat he spent a lot of time aboard was a red hulled ship... the same striking vibrant red color as this one i was targeting in SH3! it was as if the color scheme was hand picked and modeled after my grandfather's ship.

i could not bring myself to fire a salvo at her, and i watched as the beauty sailed by.

Well,
I was not an Empire unless you have some mod installed.
There's only one unit simiar to the Empire that uses a Red Hull.
And NO!!
I'm not going to tell you what it is!!
:smug:
The Recognition Manual is your friend!!

(more shuffling)

You sure it was not an
Ammunition Ship?

Has a very nice Red Hull.

And if you let that through?
BDU wants to talk to you!!

No, it wasnt an ammunition ship. im sure of it. im very familiar with that class. had it been an ammunition ship i would have blown it out of the water.

im pretty sure it was more along the lines of ore carrier or something very similar.

EDIT: yeah... just went through the museum. Ore carrier it was

My father served on HMS Illustrious from 1944-45.

That ore will assist in producing the steel that will help to maufacture the escort that will play a major part in your eventual demise. :p
