Hello Captains, I was wondering if anybody uses Google earth for their patrols. I remember reading a post about someone was using it to plot their patrols etc.. I thought this was a hell of an idea so I do use it. I use it for each patrol. Plotting my course to my patrol area, use different icons for contacts and their course made on route as well as during patrol. I do weather reports and mark the date at various points during the patrol. Keeping it organized is a key note here. I have a separate folder for each patrol but have one main folder that contains all the information that way I can review contacts made through out the war to see if there are ships that show up again on the next patrol. I have map overlay that I found on the web of German quadrant map which is the same one in SH III. It lets you get in deeper with the game I think. What do you think?

I thought that I might do that as well. Downloaded Google Earth and played around with it and thought it a pretty cool program.
I remember the post you're talking about and looking at his example. It was pretty cool what he did.

Then I started to think about all of the time it might take to plot my patrols and decided it wasn't worth it. My playing time is kinda limited as it is and I'd rather use the time playing the game instead.

Just my 2 cents.
