:damn: :damn: :damn:

Ok that was a tragedy, which took no longer than finger snap :nope:

I was heading for my patrol area (AK 34)when my U-51 and couple of friendly AI u-boats attacked it at night and in very poor visibility (rain, fog, etc.) this was a big convoy escorted by two warships only. One was sunk by AI u-boats but another one managed to stay afloat with whole of her deck burning in flames. Whole action took place somewhere in western AK grids. Managed to sink 4 ships scoring 21040 tons, when s**t started to happen.

So, this poor burning flower class corvette was heading fast away from me so I decided to surface and flee away from him on surface too, but the bugger turned around, while distance from us was about 1200 meters, I was keeping him on my 180 degrees in case he uses radar to stay more stealthier.. Corvette was keeping his speed like mine at 6 kn for some time, when next time I checked on him he was closing in fast at 15 kn 900 meters away. Seeing this horrible picture, when all burning corvette is on my tail for revenge. I quickly grabbed my legs into hands and made a noisy crash dive.. New depth 220 meters 35 to port, when at about 80 meters the pings stopped, and I was slowly picking up depth in silent runing.

Next thing I remember, depth was ~135m, depth charges exploading not very close to me, since the boat was not shaking, and I had no damages at all, when suddenly I saw "Abandon career" screen, just like a finger snap, which took half a second or so.....

WTF Just happened ?! :damn:

It was too early for me to die!!! Situations like this leaves me in stunned silence for a moment, cuz brains just dont' want to believe it I guess :nope: :nope: :nope: I had a lot to swear at to make myself calmer a bit :x.

My totals: 27 patrols (442 days) 115 (102/13) 559502 (474865/84637) (file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Administrator/My%20Documents/Personnel%20Files/SH3/Paulius_Kleinas/Aces.html)

Extract from SH3Cmdr "U-51 were lost sometime on 08APR42"

Ok so I deserved to die with such results, but not like that!
If there has been a mine waitin for me, I wouldn't let myself to freak out like this again

One possibility is: you've reach the crushdepth and you were not "picking up depth" as fast as it ought to be done to stop increasing hull damage;(note that crushdepth is not a steady value. It depends of your hull damage status. Also SH3 commander randomise the crushdepth if you choose this option)
Another possibility: You've been precise depthcharged. Depthcharge could stroke vital point of your sub cousing instant death. It happened to me once and I was really startled:o .

It sounds like one of the cans in the pattern hit you bang on the button.

Remember, depths can be staggered, they are not always set to detonate at the same depth.

Depthcharge could stroke vital point of your sub cousing instant death.

This might be it.. direct hit by depth charge..
