Good find, good choice. I'm still using one I got years ago, with a scene from the Battle of Britain on it.

Can't say much for most of the rest of them, though.

I wonder how good the uboot movies are ?

i really havnt ordered much of anything from this site.

its all German WW2 stuff primarily, but whatever it was i ordered like two years ago put me on their mailing list.

so the mail comes every few weeks with new products, i thumb through it and trash it as usually nothing much catches my eye, or i dont have use for any of it. (ie. what am i going to do with a 10" adolf hitler doll?)

but the mouse pad was cool.

also i think they have some good CDs with March songs and ww2 German music for any of you sound modders out there :hmm:

The mousepad is awesome.

Perhaps I'm mistaken but it appears that the site promotes Nazism. If it weren't for that there is some very intriguing merchandise.

well i dont know.

it is a good site which specializes in the sale of reinactment supplies, reinactor's uniforms, modeling supplies, movie quality memorabilia, history books and history documentation and films.

just as the site says "Find historically accurate resources void of distracting propaganda and politically correct distortions" which i think is important... if im going to buy a reproduction piece, or even a flag... i dont want it to be "edited" to suit the feelings of someone else.

furthermore, i think that whether or not it promotes nazism depends on what the buyer does with the things they buy.

for example, if i was making a student film and it called for a nazi headquarters scene... this would obviously be the place to go... no harm done.

but if i were to buy a nazi flag and a nuremberg eagle for my front yard to hang next to the "Heil Hitler" and "keep out!" garden signs... sure i guess it would be promoting nazism. :rotfl:

besides it is a family owned and operated business and the guy includes a lot of family photos of his wife kids and dogs. i think that is kind of nice

Great mousepad.

And nazism......People think even I've got wrong ideas, just because I play SH3:-?

It's a nice looking pad. Some of other stuff on the site is not in the nicest of taste & the testimonial from the customer (if she even exists) is really weird:

"I received my Adolf doll in the mail safe and sound last week. He is beautiful and a wonderful addition to my other related belongings! Thanks SOO much for your help during the order process! - Jill"

That's somebody with some strange  ideas about collectables. Tell your friends about her & see if they still criticise you for playing a harmless game.

not defending her tastes in dolls, because i agree that it is tasteless.

i guess the only way i could see it as not tasteless... most toy manufacturers wont make a hitler action figure... and yes some people collect these 12" figures... http://livres.histoireetcollections.com/en/publication-1330-12-inch-action-figures-soldiers-of-wwii.html there are literally dozens of figures from every major power involved in world war two. and if you really wanted a "hitler doll" to complete your collection...

...well there are only a few companies out there with the stones between their legs to put political correctness aside and acually build one.

but its a free country i happen to live in, if she wants a satan doll... well whatever  ... she has the right i suppose.

"it takes all kinds to make a world."

edit: and because of the above statement... its a silly world we live in haha

Replica Zyclon-B (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zyklon_B) canisters are far, far beyond bad taste. :nope:

Especialy when the site claims:
"Used to destroy unsightly pests and vermin by German Nazi military authorities in order to fight the spread of diseases."

GoldenRivet: You do Subsim a great disservice to link this filth. My contempt for
anyone who would consider doing business with such a shop is beyond words.

What caught my eye was the WWII anti Jew propaganda that was being sold. There was a sales pitch that said that later the artist was hanged at Nurnberg. The sales pitch lamented that the only crime of the artist was free speech in a sovereign country.

There were some very interesting items in terms of U-boat merchandise. I guess I personally would be suspicious of promoting Nazism by buying their products however.

I looked around the sight more after my 1st reply. There is some very blatent Nazi propagating language. That would stop me from buying their merchandise. It is a shame because there is some 1st rate historical items that this site does sell.

whoa guys

i didnt know they sold killer gas canisters!!! :nope:

Guess i never really explored the site that much.

like i said i have only done business with the site once years ago, and I just saw the U-boat themed mouse pad in an advertisment and thought it was neat.

thought some would agree or like to have one.... only reason it was posted

EDIT: I have removed the link to the site from the original post. the only link is to the image of the mouse pad. if anyone wants a mouse pad let me know i will provide you with a link to the site... or find another site which sells this particular mouse pad.

Thanks for removing that awful link.

I knew that I'd seen that site before; I just didn't remember it until now. That site gives decent, reputable Third Reich memorabilia dealers a really bad name...:nope:

Mistakes have been made here before at SUBSIM :yep:, let's cut GR a bit of slack, the mentioned link has been removed.

Lesson here: investigate links before posting them.

thanks, RDP. ;)

i suppose those who have known me here at subsim long enough would know i would never intentionally post, say or do anything that would be considered a "disservice" to subsim.

honestly... I saw an ad for a cool mouse pad, went to the site, bought it, and out of excitement for sharing my find i literally copied and posted the link here before the printer had even finished printing my receipt.

I was once using a funny joke as a sig, but was called out because it conflicted with my stated opposition to bashing other countries. I removed it immediately, to the delight of some and concern of others, but that's not really what's important.

I just wanted to say to GoldenRivet what someone else said to me when I changed it without hesitation:

You, Sir, have class!

If you want one im sure they are available on other - less controversial websites!

@sailor steve: Thanks, I enjoy the conversation and comradery here at subsim, and i consider the members to be my friends...

if something i have done makes my friends upset- i try to change it if i can. ;)

i guess just about anyone here would do the same.

I used the site few times, and apart from great service they provided i didnt make much of the rest of the stuff they sell. It all depends of point of view. Some can see nazi symbols on the ancient architecture, and make fuss about it.
I got few items for my boat display, like: U-boats badge, german cross, and the battle flag. Obviously replica of gass cannisters used in concentration camps is bit over the top, but the rest of the stuff is great, and at good price. :yep:

If you want to entertain the website in question please do not do so without looking at the whole site. I could see that something was wrong on this site within 5 minutes and I WAS NOT LOOKING FOR IT.

Do you want me to quote all the propaganda from this site? Please just read. Good prices do not make this right.

Their site has been taken down several times because of objectionable content. I will attach a quote from their sales team which states their commitment to perpetuating Nazi propaganda.

"IF NO ONE IS SHOOTING AT YOU YOU MUST NOT BE DOING YOUR JOB!"

My 'Battle of Britain' pad has a big Spitfire on it and several He-111s in the background an it works quite well with an optical mouse; no problems at all.

Does anyone know where I could pick up a nice U-Boat themed pad? I "Googled" it yesterday and, apart from that objectionable site, couldn't come up with very much; saw something on E-bay but wasn't impressed.

Thanks...:)

Strange Steve, I just tried with a few colored book covers & the mouse jumps all over the place, B&W is ok, these had non reflective surfaces! Happens to my sons computer as well!:-?

Edit: Seems what I tried was still too reflective, a colored newspaper worked fine!
