im based out of pearl harbour in a p-class sub (love it!!!) but so far are my missions (4 of em) are saying deploy to honshu, it was cool the first 2 times but now NOTHING GOES THROUGH HONSHU.

and requesting a transfer just transfer's me to austraila and tells me still to go to honshu!!!

Make sure you are completing your objectives. The flag will turn gray once you have done that then while on the surface, send a status report back to SubComPac and they will give you another one.

I've noticed that 'sometimes' (most of the time) after transferring to a different fleet - like to Asiatic, the first mission will be to one of your pre-transfer Pearl fleet's patrol zones. If you've been completing your objectives and want to risk it you could click the anchor icon as soon as you depart and get a different mission. I did that once and my crew were awarded several awards........ strange, but it made them happy and we received different sailing orders.

Happy Hunting!

im using 1.4 with no mods and no expansion.

The patrol turned out to be great, i actually saw convoys in my area!! got about 35,000 tons returned to port and i got the offer for the new sub...wasnt so sure if i wanted to take it because i love my p-class but i decided to take it and got a gato class! I cant wait to patrol with that sub

Oh and my next orders are in the east china sea so i finally got some change

What is/are your EXACT order[s] on the repeat mission[s]?

If you have to drop off a spy or supplies at a certain point around Honshu, you HAVE TO come to an all Engines stop when you get to your destination point and launch the rubber raft in order to get the objective flag to turn to a grey color.

Photo recon gets a little tricky to explain, but minor in nature.

If your orders are to sink enemy shipping around Honshu, you have to remain within a 50 mile radius of the yellow star for a period of 24-48 hours , and then put 20,000 tons of shipping on the ocean floor AFTER/during hanging around the mission objective.

Good luck!

it just says deploy to honshu and when i get there i get new orders usually saying engange enemy shipping....well i havent really been completing that part until my last patrol and than it changed to east china sea.

Dude:
Use the Navigation Map drawing tools. Draw a Circle no more than 50nm [nautical miles] in diameter on your mission assignment. STAY within that circle for 24-48 hours in game time - it varies the length of time you have to stay there until it goes grey in color.

Another hint, think TWICE about sending a Patrol Progress report after that. Look at your Diesel reserves for getting back to home port. Just like E.T., sometimes it is not a good idea to "phone home", because your next mission goal will send you further west and you will never have enough motion lotion [diesel fuel] to get get back to home port or a near supply base [blue anchors on the nav map].

well i havent really been completing that part until my last patrol and than it changed to east china sea.

Stay there, patrol, and put 20,000 tons on the ocean floor to get the message of "Mission Complete" for sinking Enemy Merchant Shipping. Might take 2-5 ships to get that figure based on what you bump into while patroling. Press "K" to see your tonnage progress. You seem to want everything "fast". This is a slow, give it some thought approach, to ambush the enemy.

Review what is coming at you that has BIG tonnage type of game/sim. Worst approach is to head directly at the target assuming you are 5-10 miles away - big mistake. Plot the course, do some calculations and get AHEAD of your target[s], then sink the s.o.b.'s. It is called an "end around" approach.

Good advice!
The admiralty is "insensitive" to your fuel status!
Makes you wonder what kind of "command style" this game mechanic simulates.
" Commander. Thank you for sinking 25000 tons off Honsu. Proceed to Singapore for another 25000, then to Rabaul for a port photo recon and then to Tokyo for the insertion of an agent to assasinate the emperor. If you don't have a handy agent, try sending the medic. Then proceed to the Bering Sea to observe if the icebergs are behaving politely and then you can go to your new base in Fremantle.
All of the above at your own discretion of course eh!"
:o
The higher command is playing with the "realistic fuel" unchecked!

There is a fuel limit after which you don't get new assignments, but it's ridiculously low in the stock game, something like 10%. Same goes for torpedoes, and iirc the limit is seven. RSRDC ups at least the fuel limit to a more realistic level.

I don't know. I got a RTB yesterday with my fuel bunkers reading a healthy 58% remaining...stock1.5 Gold. I had three fish left, which I spent on Targets of Opportunity as I sped homeward..( actually sped home at "Ahead Full" for a change..imagine that :yep: )

...and BTW...using Keys Shift -G and Ctrl-G will tell you the distance to the end of your laid in course and your available remaining distance at current speed..very handy tools those. Plus remember to turn off battery recharging..it is unbelievable how this will extend your range if caught short on fuel.

The way it was explained to me is that the mission is assigned to you when you ENTER port not when you leave. So you enter Pearl, get assigned a Honshu mission and that mission goes with you when you transfer. That's why you get to Fremantle and still have a Honshu mission.

Only three fish means certain rtb. The limits for US side are btw in data/campaigns/campaign/DynamicMiss.cfg, while the German ones are in the corresponding file in their folder.
