Arrgh... I remember seeing Pelosi in person earlier this year at the Castro Theater. When she stood up in the audience, I was appalled at how many people cheered and clapped. I regret that I didn't boo her like she deserved! (That other story about her censoring the poster of the troops really ticked me off!)

When will people wake up & realize this system is a complete sham: there is no real opposition party. This whole Punch & Judy Show (the election process) exists only to maintain the illusion that we have a say in how the country is run. All republics eventually turn corrupt, and we end up with the form without the substance.

I have a feeling that if the Founding Fathers were alive today, they wouldn't be Republicans or Democrats -- they'd be busy planning the Second American Revolution!

Now seriously, if a person with this kind of responsability would take such a serious matter into this level of discussion in my country I'd be pissed off too (and that's one of the reasons I'm always pissed off!!! effing José Sócrates e cia + os q lá estiveram antes até à primeira república) but she has a point... the american coast simply doesn't have nough oil to replenish the needs of american fuel demand... You guys have artificially lowered gas prices and an inefficient energy policy... Time to "Dune" it up and build windtraps... dri lling for oil now would't bring any droppng of the prices, only taxcuts to the oil companies so they could implement development plans...
