"Interesting WWII Poster.:hmm: "......

The surrounding "civilization" mostly found around the military seems to be the same thru-out the ages.

In my spry military days a time ago we 18yr olds fresh out of the field would venture into some of the establisments on streets with name such as victory dr and bragg blvd (can insert any street name surrounding any base, port or so on)--always was an overewhelming odor of perfume & baby powder:dead: .

Most of us were smart enough to follow the golden rule of "look but don't touch" but there were always a few lads who let the beer get the best of them:o

Reminders of a by-gone era.

Anybody here ever served in the military like me?

Remember those VD films they used to show before you shipped out?

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Speaking of Dirty Women.

A friend of mine in the navy picked up a girl at a bar when he was serving in SE Asia. he was drunk of course, and she was a "hot one".

they went back to her place and ... well... you know.

He said when he woke up in the morning not only was she coyote ugly... but she was visibly dirty from head to toe.

... and there were only three parts of her body which were mysteriously squeeky clean.

wonder how those parts go so clean! :rotfl:

Never been in the armed forces but 15 years as a police officer means I've had plenty of contact with such women. (In the correct context of course)

To be quite honest I've always found them to be amongst the toughest yet kindest type of people.

You are right...for me this topic ends here, with the hight nunber of sailors around here and if all this seaman tell they "stories" and "experiences" we will need another FORUM! :rotfl:

Yeah...this kind of talk i fell like a "fish in the water" lol but for continued this talk we must join the Subsim meeting, and went to a Bar near the docks, to fell the true atmosfere of the thing! Special with no women around...sorry girls!:rotfl:

14 years myself and I agree with you. Also a great source of information.

GoldenRivet
08-26-08, 04:04 PM
hehehe... agreed.

but what about penny? we would tone it down for her... im sure she could hold her own though!

she should come to the meet! i dont know her super well, but from what i DO know....

i have a feeling that if a massive bar fight broke out she would be one of the only 3 - 5 people standing when the smoke cleared. :rotfl:

Red Heat

GoldenRivet
08-26-08, 04:14 PM
i dont think she will be in attendance. ;)

or was she going to make it?

difficult for a lot of forum members to make it to Galveston, Texas. but with some of the things to see in the area it would be a worthwhile trip.

Red Heat
08-26-08, 04:20 PM
Im sure it will be a hell of a trip...and honestly, from my heart it will be a pleasure to meet you guys (and girls) personaly, but for me it will be impossible to go...

As a experience ex-sailor in the real life, drink in the hight seas can be dangerous...special at war, and women in a ship can bring bad luck to the ship and crew...i prefer a cold, sistematic, objective, fast solution...no women, no love, no poetry...victory or death, thats the war is about!

P.S. Remember Das Boot at the beginning...the Captain words: "they are full of fear and serch some confort in women and champagne!

GoldenRivet

i could tell you why i search for comfort in women and champagne... but it aint due to fear :rotfl:

I was pleasantly surprised when i listened more closely to the stuff sung by the Andrews Sisters. And on youtube you can find some wonderful vintage footage from their performances. Wonderful double layers, but very nice! worth a look and listen
