Having played stock SH3 for too long, I got used to that shooting down the planes is very easy.
Now I'm in my 16th patrol with GWX, and I started to respect the aircrafts. But the last time my WO reported sighting one, I got nostalgic for the old times, and decided to shoot him down. It was a lonely Hudson.
He inflicted some damage each time he passed above me, but I still didn't quit. Only when 2 bombs exploded near my sub, I ordered to dive.
As I was passing 50m, the crew started to report pressure damage :damn:. Panicked, I blow the tanks, and fortunately managed to stop the surfacing at periscope depth. Later I tested my crush depth, and I found I couldn't go bellow 30m. It was time to go home. :nope:
Until this moment, I had a successful patrol, sinking 45000 tones. I was about 300km west of Gibraltar straight, on the way to penetrate it, and go for the Ore carriers on the other side. With 11 torpedoes left on board, but heavily damaged boat, I had no choice but to return home and hopefully find some small unescorted ships on the way.
I'll never learn :damn:
