View Full Version : For old ATI video users. Good new!
Hi, all.
Good news guys!
Yesterday I have installed the new driver 8-8_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_67975.exe for my old video (ATI R9800 Pro 256 MB) ... and now i have stable sun glow!
...
Except for it, ATI Tray Tool (by Ray Adams) program is installed at me ... with additional small adjustment Advanced D3D Tweaks --> AGP Texture Tiling ... others tweaks are by default ...
P.S. And i have installed aug. 2008 DirectX 9c ...

Awesome! How are your frame rates? My computer came with a 9600 card, and not wanting to spend too much money on another AGP card I 'upgraded' to an Nvidia 6200 series, thinking that because it was 256 instead of 128 it there would be some improvement. I've been considering putting the ATI card back in ever since. Before I buy a better AGP card I'll spend the money on a whole new computer, if I ever get that much.

YES!!!!!
ATI has finally fixed the sun glare bug! The version 8.8 drivers do the trick!!!! My old ATI x1950 AGP is now rendering the glare. And to think I was considering buying a new card...... Good things come to those who wait, eh?

One little problem however. As you can see the glare shines through the conning tower. I know someone had a fix for the sun glaring through the water so does anyone have an idea for this?
Thanks!

The only one I know of was a fix I came up with for the sun shining through the water when it was below the horizon. It'd be nice if someone has a fix for this, I tried and couldn't find anything as I think it's a z-buffer issue in the drivers.

Now the effect of "eyes adaptation to light" works correctly ...
