Hey folks...........

I stopped plating SH3 about the time Beery published his final solo version of RUB.

That's quite some time ago.........

I'm thinking of getting the Silent Hunter "Gold" edition with SH3 & 4 bundled.

I've been playing SHIV for some time and I'm looking to jump back into the ATO............

Should I just waint until GWX is released for IV?

How intense is GWX???

GWX 2.1 is the peak of the SH3 experience in my opinion.

it could be some time before we see a GWX release for SHIV so - if i were you i would enjoy SH3 - GWX 2.1 now.

also i highly recommed the OLC GUI mod, and the life boats and debris mod.

As I understand it GWX is a megamod with many updates and fine tunings......What types of mods would not be good to install over GWX?

Almost every SH3 mod out there is built around GWX. that said, not everything is compatible. ill put up a list of essentials here in a minute.

included in the GWX 2.1 mod are several optional mods... i recommend these.

GWX main movie - 'Das Boot"
GWX no medals on crew
GWX Open hatch mod
GWX enhanced damage effects

other mods to get are

when you feel like you have the stock game pretty well pegged, load up those mods... it will blow you away

SH4 Gold does NOT have SH3 on it. It's SH4 and SH4 U-Boat Missions bundled.

Fubar did a lot of great skins, and so did FooFighter. There are a great many skins floating around that are, well...great.
