It is possible to save game during patrol when we are on sea in Silent Hunter 1? I can't find this option in game and manual :hmm:

I think that was on alt+o, just make sure you name the savegame after your captain, because the name of the savegame will show up as the captains name if you receive an award, or if your sub is sunk.

SH1 you could save at any time. It was AOD which prohibited saves while in combat (weapons released).

Depends on what version you have. I think the ability to save at any point wasn't available until v1.3. It's been a long time since I've played anything but the Commanders Edition so I maybe wrong, but I think I remember there being limitations on when you could save in vanilla SH1 and maybe even 1.1.

True I have SHCE and not SH1.

It's not in there, I have the original manual myself, and I couldn't find it (atleast not the part about saving in a mission). With 1.11 you could save all the time btw. If my copy of SH1 wasn't at our country house I'd load it and find out which is the right button combo for saving, but I'm pretty certain it was alt+o.

I am pretty sure that's it.

CTRL+O was for AOD. ALT+O for SH.

When I read this last night I dug out my manual just so I could prove people wrong and show how cool I was. Nope - I couldn't find it either. It's been years since I've played it, but Alt+O seems to ring a bell for me, too.
