:) Hi everyone!
I must say that I don't regret to download and install this Mod.
Holy macrel it's so natural and realistic:lol:
I read also regarding this mod that must not have these two mods (8km&16km) installed at the same time ,ok I listen to these experts and only installed "16km Green atlantic" , and disable "GWX-16km Atmosphere" , and yeah by the way, remember to have "Improved wave textures installed, and all of these mods are JSGME friendly:p
I took a screenshot of it with my new VII type sub I change my mind regarding sub and removed my type IID sub,too small for me I am a big guy:rotfl:

In defense of Reece's mod...

I know that water is chemically blue but and besides, some parts of the ocean have populations of microscopic phytoplanktons. These organisms have the green pigment of chlorophyll that contributes to the color green of any natural body of water...

I`m also using Reeces mod, rather prefer it myself, I`ve gotten some nice comments about it in my screenshots. Puts

Sure, on a painting you can also make it red, yellow or pink.
But I get many pics that I take when I was in the North Atlantic and no one is green.
Sorry.

Chisum, it is SO green!

I saw it in Das Boot!
:rotfl:

Seriously, I've seen a few photos that clearly showed greenish water, but they mostly seemed to be of bays, coves and such. I can't speak from experience, of course, since the only time I ever saw the Atlantic Ocean was from 35,000 feet on my way to my only tour of Europe...and that was 1962!:dead:

Where was it filmed ? In the Baltic Sea or in a colored swimming pool ?

Probably because it's often the case.
But note that this green is the right color of the North Sea and also in the Dover channel.

I understand.
;)

The right color of the North Atlantic is very typical.
If the sky is sunny it's a dark blue like South Atlantic but no also blue as the South Atlantic, a little bit more dark.
And in case of covered sky it's a melt of very dark blue and few variants of grey that I named "Blue steel". This is my favorite color and it's absolutly wonderfull specialy if many wind and big waves because the color "blue steel" is changing all the time.
Very impressive !
Of course, it also depends on the thickness of the cloud layer and hence, the amount of light(Google translation, not sure it's correct...).

Here is near the Great Banks

And this, I don't know where it was but I like it too.

But I must say to Reece that I like his job witch is probably a must to navigate in the North Sea where the color is the same green.

Hope you don't worry.

Funny thing that: I have a copy of the original theatrical release on videotape, and in it the water is blue, even in the underwater shots. In the Director's Cut and the 'Uncut' version the water is green. Did they edit it with some kind of filter? I don't know.

That's funny too - the North Atlantic looks a lot like...the Pacific!

You right, I agree.
I have just rewatched the movie yesterday, the long version in german, and I saw that all sequences surfaced, the Ocean is blue-grey, grey or blue.
But when submerged water is green effectivly.

I get some screenshot from the movie.

http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/6306/vlcsnap490447sk4.png

I thing they have a reduced submarine and used a swimming pool to turn the submerged parts with external green spotlights to give this color wich permitt us to watch something.
Because normally, after 5 or 10 meters submerged you can't see nothing, it's too dark.

Also I like this pic, very impressive !

And also this one wichseems coming right from SH3 lol !

:o Ok!
:o But why do I have conflict when I have GWX-16km atmosphere and 16k green Atlantic when i use those at the same time:hmm:
Once I have desabled the GWX-16km atmosphere conflicts are no more:yep:
can it be because i use SH3Cmdr+JSGME then:o
Explain it to us dudes Reece , so we get it in our heads at once ,please:lol:

Reece

Ah! the reason is that both have the EnvColors_Atl.dat file, mine is basically the same just green!! enable mine over the top or make a copy of the original GWX 16k mod, copy mine over that then rename the mod to GWX 16k mod Green Atlantic, then enable that one!:yep:
Note: not sure what it's called (GWX 16k mod) so just give proper name!

I was just working on the size you upload here... but it loss quality when i expand it to the game size, i applyied a focus filter... may be better to have a big size one.
