Lol Cloaking is going to happen sooner that we can imagine. I wonder who will benefit from such a technology? Do you think civilians will be restricted to it?

Do you think civilians will be restricted to it?
No but I think that civilians would be restricted FROM it. LoL
I can see the future bumper stickers:
If you outlaw cloaking devices, only outlaws will have cloaking devices.
I can hear the arguments: I use my cloaking device only for hunting

Great, US scientists are thinking up new ways of war again....
DARPA is soo pathetic.
IF you make military research, you disguise it as a service for humanity, for god's sake, not trumpet out loudly that you're thinking up new ways of disguising soldiers!
Look at the Japanese, they develop all the same stuff that can be used for military purposes as well but they always state its for the good of humanity

Um, the Romulans had it first. The Klingons got it later.
I'm remembering a very funny episode of Lois & Clark, which featured a guy who had developed just such a suit. Lois kept insisting that there's "no such thing as an invisible man!" When she sees the proof herself, and the inventor explains how it bends light rays around itself so no one can see it, she crows proudly "See? He wasn't really invisible; he only appeared to be invisible!"

The lesson here is to never argue with women, you lose by default.
