help,,,wont load

Game crashed yesterday.
emptied out all.
reinstalled game 1.4
reinstalled mods.
it worked, played ,,,, had fun
went to ubisoft and downloaded 1.5
( it did it automatically and didnt ask for my key) (i had it before the crash)
game wont finish loading
removed all mods in generic enabler but game alone wont finish loading,
bar goes 80% across then a "ting" tells me it has failed

what to do???????????????????
i would hate to have to erase everything again ( it took 5 hours this morning)

dont see what you mean? I had 1.4,, then patched to 1.5 and (with no mods whatsoever) it wont start.

Did you disable all mods before patching? If not then I'm afraid it's time for another reinstall.

dont find any of the reg items they list

followed sticky details but had no reg items they listed. i can load and its ok,, but when i patch to 1.5 it will start to start, but 80% through the time-bar/loading bar I get a tone and it locks up. PLEASE HELP

This may well be a graphics problem or memory problem.

Will the game load and play just patched to 1.5...without any mods? I'm guessing it will.


If yes... then add mods 1 at a time and try to load after each is added to find out which is causing you grief.


There are so many mods, each one overwriting one another, it isn't too hard to find a combo that will not load. The game is looking for this or that specific file and then finds something it doesn't expect. It just gives up and stops loading. Using JSGME it has always been easy to remove the offending mod[s] for me and to get going again...and this has happend several times....but keep in mind I have not tried 1.5 yet and there have been lots of complaints about that version. I can't comment until I get to try it firsthand and see for myself.

If you can't load and play SHIV 1.5 unmodded then you have something else going on..maybe try UbiSoft Technical support to try and resolve it.

with NO mods it plays 1.4 ( and with mods also)

with no mods it wont play 1.5

My only other suggestion is to do a complete search of all files and folds. Do a search for "SH4" with your computers search program off the START button. See what is found. Delete everything found that is associated with SH4. Fresh install after that.
