Hello all, new member here. I realize this is very old news, but thought it was an interesting topic. HMS Gotland, a Swedish attack submarine using AIP, snaps pictures of the USS Ronald Reagen, the US nuclear carrier. Thoughts?

Maybe Ronald Reagan just forgot the Submarine was there

Seriously, welcome to the "carrier sinker" club, swedish navy!

Old news indeed, but still interesting. That's what I always say: The U.S Fleet is the biggest in the world, but the Swedish is the best!
Välkommen hit gosse!

Nope tonnage wise the USN is in the lead by miles numbers not at all they are struggling for a 313 ship navy they curently have 288 vessels
China had 294 and russia oddly has 355 (most are patrol craft but still counted)
Its always been tied between germany and sweden in conventional submarine design but the ultimate submarine nation for training is the royal navy and i do hear roumers that alot of nations send thier prospective captains on our perisher course.

1. We can afford them.
2. We task them to do missions all around the World. That means they have to have the endurance to go half-way around the World, and have a decent amount of time on station.
3. Russia actually makes them bigger, anyway.
4. Some of us think the US should make some smaller, cheaper subs.

Of course, not trying to start a Who's better debate, but, it goes to show you can't trust us neutrals ;). Look at the Swiss.
