I know in SH3 there was a .tga file or something to that effect that I could remove that would remove that annoying icon that shows my boats position when it is sumberged. I cannot remember what or where it is located for the life of me and forum searches turned up nothing. Can someone refresh my memory?
you need to delete the file named Umark.dds located in \data\misc folder. Or you could rename it that will also have the same effect

It is actually a good point st.rage, that bloody icon gets annoying after about 20 patrols and you already KNOW where your boat is,or should do.
Would it damage the game in any way if it was deleted?,and can it be done mid patrol?.
Cheers.

Paul, as far as I remember you can remove it mid patrol. It will not hurt anything. Or just rename it as Q3ark stated. Sorry Firewall I like looking at my boat :) I don't use it to find the enemy but I do like taking screenies in different locations :) Otherwise I try to play fairly realistic

Oh and thanks Q3ark!!
No problem always happy to help if i can
Use any decent mod like TM or RFB and that thing will be gone for sure together with a lot of other annoying bugs inherent in Vanilla SHIV1.4.;)

There's a built in function. You can remove the interface by pressing DEL is it? And Shift-DEL removes the underwater mark. I think that's the right key combo, but it's been a while.
