Chinese police Tuesday apologised for roughing up two Japanese journalists as Beijing's Olympic commitment to allow foreign media freedom came under scrutiny three days before the Games opened.

This could also turn out to be entertaining!

I like it. Finally an Olympic Games that has absolutely nothing to do with sports.

Seriously! I like playing sports, can't stand watching them on TV. Except maybe hockey. This year is fun because there's a big issue overshadowing the games.

Can't stand watching sports, but sign me up to play - no problem! Loved soccer. Still do but haven't found anyone that still plays it.

I have zero interest in the summer olympics. Winter olympics is a different story. I don't think I'll watch 5 minutes of this.

In a crazy irony, I put my patriotism in a box for this kinda stuff. i like seeing the small countries win stuff (the underdog). This is where the Ugly American syndrome drives me crazy.

I love the summer olympics. Much more sports that I like compared to the winter ones.

What, you don't like biathalon! That's outrageous.
:rotfl:

I was in russia in 1994 and got to watch the olympics there. Just like the US, they only cover the sports that they are good in, so there was a lot of women's biathalon.:dead:

Just wait till Iran gets the Olympics !

Franky at this point, I'm waiting to hear announcements like "China has refused entry of all non-Chinese athletes into China for the Olympic Games."

Beijing Olympics: Britain sends twice as many public workers as athletes

Britain's Olympic squad will be outnumbered two to one in Beijing by politicians, civil servants and BBC staff whose trips to China will cost the public almost £7 million, the Daily Telegraph can disclose.
