View Full Version : gameplay settings fubarred
I recently(last couple of days) switched from stock SH4 v.1.4 to TMO and it worked fine at first(multiple loads) but now it won't load my preferred gameplay settings. I have everything checked except no external view and no map updates but the game makes me play using auto targetting and won't let me use the external camera plus it activates the event camera. I have gone into gameplay settings multiple times and reset it but when I start the game it goes back to the above settings(yes, I am clicking apply changes). I defragged my hard drives and there are no other issues as far as I'm aware. I don't have very many other mods a music mod, 6__PE3_patch_for_TM and the realistic diesel engine sound mod. My game hates me! I can't play with auto targetting and after spending all that time setting up shots I have to see the results. Has anyone experienced this? Urge

Can't say for certain, but a couple of things come to mind:
1) Starting a new career overwrites the gameplay settings in the options menu. You have to change them in the office before setting out on a patrol.
2) The settings are saved (in three separate places) in the save game files, so loading a save reverts the settings. There's an autosave when you enter port and another when you leave. If you change settings in port, the leaving save should have the correct settings in it while the entering port will have the old settings, and if you reloaded an earlier save you'll have to change them again.

You nailed it. Thanks! I started a career, went on my first patrol dropping off a spy and never saw a ship(so this is how come people are saying you can't get to 100 tons in TMO? If you don't see any you can't sink 'em). Went back to Midway and refueled and it wasn't until I was trolling for ships in the slot that I realized this. Urge
