Hi All,

First post, so a little about me: Live in the UK, keen scuba diver, and dived my first U-boat this year (WW1 era UC-39) and have organised diving a few more later this year. I read a lot of U-boat literature. I also am ready to move from an aviation modeller to a naval (U-Boat!) one, so to this post...

I really like the 1/72 Revell VIIC, but think that the 1/144 will be more practical for me for several reasons. However, I would like 'aftermarket' bits for it, namely a deck kit and a photo etch kit.

This thread (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=134722) post 2 indicated that these were available. However I have contacted WEM and no deck kit I am afraid, also the PE kit from Eduard is VIID, but I guess this will suffice.

Any comments / further information available?

Also, anyone doing a nice 'build it feature' just ;like the 1/72 one by Siara?

Top forum by the way, I have spent the last week reading old posts before I got around to posting this.

Daniel.

Welcome to subsim DCT!

About the deck. I dont know if it is available yet, as the piece i had was sent to me as a gift from the Nautilus models guys. It was in the testing at the time, and still had errors- namely the etching stated, it was for 1/72 boat.
Heres the pics of it along the 1/72 deck from the same stable:

Siara,

Thanks, i'll contact them and ask.

Your 1/72 build post is what has tempted me into this. I've got a couple of planes to finish, then a holiday to have, so it'll be a while before I start, but I will start collecting the bits now - spread the cost out.
