ok i stopped there on my way back from vacation on Highway 43. It's located at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowac, Wisconsin. Manitowac produced 28 submarines during WWII. the USS Cobia was manufactured however on the East Coast. this sub is in GREAT shape, it is a fully working sub if need be. everything has been kept up in pristine condition. when i was there weds, they were preparing for a engine run that night.

i have almost 200 pictures to share however the total on them is almost 700mb worth. since i used the Canon EOS Rebel XTI i have. used the highest setting possible hence why each picture is 2.5 to 4.0mb in size. so if someone has a idea on how to share all of these please let me know and i will try to upload them to that site. or i could just pick a few pictures and put them up in thumbnails, your choice but i did managed to get pictures of just about everything on the sub.

Maybe get someone with a photo editing software to re-size the images. Most image hosts are going to deny posting of photos that size.

Hope you get something worked out soon looking foward to the 'tour'.

I'd love to see about 20 of your favorite photos from the Cobia. Inside and outside. I'm about to begin putting together something for the USSVI convention.

copy..i can do w/e you want. i'm hoping to condense them into a RAR file later on and upload the file to a file sharing place. that way you can decide which ones you like.

i'll get to work on that here in a little bit :ping:

That would be wonderful. Please share the link with me when you find a place to put your file.

will do. thinking i may have to split up the files into 100mb rar's but thats not hard at all. i have HJ split which does it for me. and then combines them all back together in seconds. if i have to do that i'll put them up on rapidshare, and just reset my ip each time so i can upload all of them. then thats what you'll have to do in order to get each file. sucks but atleast that way its free :D

You upload the whole batch in a zipped file to your own account, free easy setup on filefront.com, for me to download.

Then I run it through photoshop in batch mode to resize all of them in one button click, which also sets them to 6 inches wide, in jpg format, reducing the total upload size as well (bonus) then I rezip it to you on filefront and you upload each photo to photobucket.com (your own free account - easy to setup also) which gives you a http: link for each pic..

Copy all the links to a text list.. and paste the full list here.. it will look like a multi-page list of a few hundred sentences, one link per line.

Anyone can click any link in any order , or run through the slideshow offered by photobucket.com as well..

They are excellent, thanks! I especially like being able to see pics of equipment I'd not seen before, like the SD radar set and JP-1 sonar gear.

as i stated Snakeyez, w/e you need from me on that, it's not a problem. use w/e you want to. i wish i would have had enough time when i was back home in chicago to go and see U-505 again. been since i was 12 that i last saw it. thats 19 years since the last trip there. but i will be going next time i am down there, this time i will make sure i have enough time, lol. this trip was consumed by lots and lots and lots and lots of drinking at beer gardens:rock:

Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/ - good and very customizable free viewer) allows you to mass convert pictures of various formats to other formats. Distributing .jpg pictures over the 'Net is gonna be a whole lot easier.

Thanks:rock:

i know its a big download but waddaya do. with some of them being used by snakeyez in a presentation at USSVI, just wanna make sure that some of the people around here think they are up to par.

been doing photography as a hobby since i was a little kid, since my mom has done it her whole life. think we got probably 3 grand or so tied up in Canon stuff right now. i know we've spent much more then that over the past 20 years. plus i know we are buying more here soon. filters alone i think we got 50 or 60 different ones. and lenses, **** god only knows. we also still have a new 35mm Canon Rebel EOS as well. so yeah got some money tied up..LOL
