Deat fellow addicts, ahum, I mean gamers. :D

I recently took a Type IIA out of Constanta in mid-1943. Assigned patrol area Sea of Azov. New and exiting I thought.

South of the entrance I encountered a Soviet Tramp Steamer which I hit solidly under the smoke stack. I surfaced to watch the sinking. Just before the ship was going under a Heinkel 111 swoops down all guns blazing forcin me out of the way as I am in the firing lane as well. The Tramp Steamer takes a hit, goes down and...I get no credit.
Thanks a lot Herr Göring. :damn: I wont be sorry when they call you Meyer!!!

Passing through the Kerch Straits on the surface, though, I meet a convoy of a Small Tanker and a Troop Ship. Much needed fuel and some of our boys going home for a well deserved rest in the Fatherland, I guess. It is the middle of the night and I pass them at about 250 meters inside the channel. Then I see the Soviet flag. They are enemy and not friendlies.

As far as I know the Kerch Straits were German controlled mid-1943. Still there are Soviet ships going through there at will. Took away a bit of the realism for me there.

This happens quite a lot, either Herr Goerings Flyboys never show up when you need them, or they do and get credit for sinkings.

Twice I saw a single Allied merchant right outside my base in Salamis in the Agean, between German held Greece and Crete, right in my exit lane too. Now that is Balzy.

Regarding ship credits, there has been a number of cases (I can remember at least 3) in my previous careers when a ship I sunk was not credit to me (usally those that took a long time after torp impact), Goring's boys are not present at those occassions. On a side note, small fising vessels I ram are never credited.

Ah, I just enjoy the patrol. And after all, at least the cover for us when they can. We're all on the same side, nothing to compete about but winning the war!

Good luck men!

Yes it is. But the Kerch Strait is German controlled and I doubt that the Soviets would have their supply line through there.
