Hi,

Would someone please help me out. According to the instruction manual I should be able to pull up the recognition manual with the "M" key. This brings up the ship's log. This is a minor issue. My real problem is that when I do bring up the recognition manual I have all the ships already checked. I've set realism settings to 100% historic and I'm still not getting any information on range , etc. Manual say's to check the empty box when you locate the correct profile. Just like Silent Hunter III. The stadimeter appears to work correctly but where is the readout ? The instruction manual would have been much better to do a step by step procedure to attack a ship using 100% realism. Did I miss something. BTW, I tried the search engine and came up empty.

Thanks

Lou

Well the manual could have been better at a lot of things.

One thing to check is if your in a carrier is your reality settings. By default the campaign settings do not use the 'default' for whatever reason. That might explain why the check box is already ticked.

There is a radio on the top shelf to your left, click that to change set settings.

As to the stadiometer etc, there are tabs on the sides of the periscope view screen click those and they will slide out.

Don't know about the manual, but you're better off using it as a coaster or putting it under a crooked table leg. What I do know is that "N" brings up the recog. manual, not "M".

Like Steamwake said, there should be tabs in the scope views. Clicking the one on the left should bring out a panel that displays solution info, and it can be switched to display torpedo settings. The one on the top-right should bring out a tool to input data into the TDC, and the one on the right will open a panel for tube selection and tube status.

Welcome aboard.

Okay,

Thanks, I sank that Mogami Cruiser semi-manually. Finally got the angle of the bow where it was supposed to be. Still experimenting with placing shots. The damage looks fantastic close up. I think I'm going to like this game as much or better than the original Silent Hunter. I'm just awed by the graphics. Some of the crew responses are a little goofy but certainly tolerable. When I set rudder amidships the helmsman's response is "Rudder Rudder ". Yeah Pal, Rudder Rudder.

Yea, the "rudder rudder" glitch has been there since the game launched, unfortunatly, it's never been fixed.

All I have to say is ... well.... rudder rudder... :p

Just one of those things... as said has never been fixed. Probably never will at least in the current versions.

Oh and rudder rudder

Almost as fun as the dorks shouting out orders when submerged.... Duh... hello were tryin to be quiet here!
