The Scottish By-Election
The result of this 22% swing from Labour to the SNP was a hell of a blow to Gordon Brown as this was a former rock hard safe Labour seat with a good 30,000 votes in the bag. But don't forget this result was nothing more than a protest vote against Gordon Brown over such issues as food & oil prices going up and up.

The short term result was indeed bad for Labour. You must take in the long term result and that is come, the next general election Labour will most likely retake that seat as the SNP only have about 3000 majority which is peanuts as we all know.

The Backbench Backlash
Are the good old backbench MP's are calling for a new leader and why? Is Gordon Brown the worst Prime Minister to date? Yes he is but here is the question, who is going to replace him? No one that I can see, there all a wast of space. At the end of the day this backbench revolt is nothing more than a load of pigs squealing like pigs on a barbecue. They are only thinking of themselves.

Next years Local Elections
These results will be very interesting and if as I suspect another hammering for Labour like lasts years Councils results. This will put Gordon Brown under greater pressure to go. But as I have pointed out, he probably will not as he and the Front Bench know there is no real candidate to challenge him.

The General Election is when?
Gordon Brown is going full term folks of England, thats means he can go to October 2010 if he so chooses to do. There is a sense of change in the land and Labour are now a spent force. If they loose the general election it will not be on the grounds how good David Cameron leader of the Conservative Party is or the party itself is. It will be on the grounds how Labour has gone so bad and sour. On saying that, times are getting tougher and business leaders state we will be still in the rot by 2010. So who ever wins will have a rough ride ahead of them.

As much as I hate our (US) 2 party system, atleast I can keep track of who believes what. I have no idea what all of the English parties stand for.

Labo(u)r:) Party = Democrat Party
Greenies=Communist

And the other major parties?

STEED....There are no local elections next year, it is classed as a 'fallow' year because of the European elections that will take place.

Who will succeed Gordon ?

Probably my local MP David Miliband, the current Foreign Secretary.

I wonder how Gordon will feel when he's overthrown by a Thunderbird puppet.

Unless your old mate returns of course.

Or your other mate defects over to Britain.

So....it looks like a three horse race between a Thunderbird puppet and Twit or Twat.

GOOD LORD JIM! SELL UP TODAY AND MOVE OUT OF HIS SEAT FASTER THAN YOU CAN FART. :o

That man is the glove puppet of the EU. :yep:
He licks EU Butt so much even I'm amazed!

If David Miliband is serious about his remarks today why didn't he name himself as a possible candidate instead of hiding behind his own words.

I'm not sure if this is widely known, but he's been in the process of being groomed for eventual leadership sinxe he wrote two of Blairs election strategies/manifestos.
