Missions and historical happenings

Why is that after a mission and I am back in port I get a briefing on what is happening in the pacific (in this case Midway) yet for my patrol I get the exact same area to patrol as my previous three missions?

I know there use to be a patrol fix out there, but I am not using it because I am not sure if it is compatable with TMO+RSRD.

Make sure you are patched to 1.4 or 1.5. TMO and RFB mods both fix the recurring patrol bug as well.

Yep, all patched to 1.5 and latest RSRD installed too. I am sailing out of TF5 in Australia in 42 (April right now I believe). When in Pearl I kept getting south china sea, now it is the straights (choke point, can't remember name).

Even without the repeating missions the 'historical' cut scenes are merely color text.

Shame really espically when the cuts call specifically for submarine support in the war effort yet ... sigh... you cant.

Im left with the impression that the game designers wanted the player to take part in these offensives but the game mechanics do not lend themselves to it.

yes, too bad indeed. I was going to say to heck with the current mission and charge up to midway, guess no need to now.
