This is an electronic version of the basic service manual for the Mark 14 & 23 torpedoes. Lots of interesting information...maybe too much! :rotfl:

Interesting stuff, will read more when I'm home, God I hate overtime, but I love having my own office :smug:
Superb source of info, thanks!
I took a really good look at this.
It was funny as I looked at this, how I was reminded of the maintenance manuals I use for maintaining the aircraft I work on. This manual makes those things look like jokes. Everything is clearly depicted and explained.
It was like I was reading a manual for something designed to last a long time....
Then I remembered I was looking at the operations and maintenance manual for torpedoes, something that had a life span of several months at best.
Everything seen in this book, ended up getting blown to smitherens on the side of a ship, or ended up sinking to the bottom of the ocean as a failed shot. This excepting the practice head and it's components.
Wow, it really brings home what we humans will do to destroy things and kill one another.

Rich Pekelney is a great guy for fooling with the manuals, and the Historic Naval Ships Association (HNSA) is a great organization. :)
