Warship detection

Question..Do ALL ships in SH3 classified as warship have the ability to detect you via sonar etc...or is it only destroyers and above??
Using GWX2.1 btw oh and its Sept 1939.:)

Some vessels only have hydrophones, I think.

In the stock game, it would be destroyers and below that have sonar. Specifically DD's, DE's, and FF's.

As for the ones that had hydrophones add Trawlers and Tug Boats to the above list.

The capital ships like CL's, CA's, BB's, and CV's didn't have sonar or hydrophones in WWII and the game models that fact correctly. Merchants were lucky to have a working radio and a search light.
