Hi All,

I'm toying with moving to SH4, i'm currently a SH3 player.

My problem is that i travel a lot with work, and dont have a lot of time at home to play on my PC.

What i would really like is to be able to play SH4 on a laptop, i have tried the 'test your machine' software and my laptop comes out well, with no failures, but i does tell me that laptop version of chipsets and gaphics are not supported.

Do any of you use a laptop, and if so which make/model/spec

Thanks guys

Well hello there! ;)

From my experience there's quite a lot of people using laptops to play SH4.
Please look at these threads:

Edit: Also I think you don't need the DVD to play the game since patch 1.3 so you don't even have to have it with you.

Yeah, I play SHIV on my laptop and I get 30 fps. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad R61 with 2 gigs of RAM, a 2.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, and an Nvidia NVS 140m Quadro graphics processor.

The biggest problem I see with both of my laptops when playing highend games is HEAT.

With any computer heat is a killer. With laptops it can spell DOOM.

I should know, My HP Pavilion is in the shop now.

The Fujitsu Lifebook I'm on now gets extremely warm playing GWX 2.1.

But HELL !!! GWX 2.1 is a Super Hot Mod. :D
